Gran Canaria has confirmed that guard A.J. Slaughter will remain at the club for the 2023-24 BKT EuroCup season. Slaughter (1.91 meters, 35 years old) averaged 10.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steals and an 8.6 PIR in 21 games en route to Gran Canaria becoming last year's EuroCup champion. He has spent the last three campaigns with Gran Canaria, playing 50 games in the EuroCup. Slaughter first appeared in the competition with Dexia Mons-Hainaut of Belgium in the 2011-12 season, before going on to represent French teams Cholet (2012-13), Elan Chalon (2013-14) and LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (2017-19), as well as Banvit of Turkey (2015-16). The veteran also played one season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, suiting up for Panathinaikos Athens in the 2014-15 season. Across his 124-game career in the EuroCup, Slaughter has averaged 11.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a 9.4 PIR.
