Only a few people would have predicted that the 7DAYS EuroCup game between Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and Promitheas Paras would go to overtime when the former led 67-47 late in the third period. The home team were comfortably in charge, running its offensive sets with ease and taking advantage of its opponent's turnovers to dominate the game.
Booth saved the day for Buducnost
But suddenly, Promitheas woke up early in the last period and displayed a remarkable performance to come back from behind. Led by Joe Young and Anthony Cowan, the visitors managed to reduce the margin to single digits with 4 minutes left to play. Nerves took over among the Buducnost crowd, as the visitors sparked another strong run, capped by triples by Nikolaos Gkikas and Cowan, to turn the tables and have a 79-81 edge with 37 seconds to play.
Alpha Kaba turned an offensive rebound into a bucket to tie it up, but Joe Young responded and scored a contested layup that seemed to confirm a victory for Promitheas with 7 seconds to go. There was still time left, though, with Phil Booth taking the ball and running the floor before scoring a miracle bucket that ended up sending the game to overtime.

Booth didn’t stop there, as he continued to punish Promitheas in overtime. Right after Kaba set an 82-81 lead from the line, Booth took over and dominated on offense to score 2 more baskets, which saw Buducnost take an 86-81 advantage. He showed up again, this time from the line, to extend it to 89-82 with 1:40 remaining, giving Buducnost the calm it needed to confirm the win.
