Buducnost wins overtime thriller over Ulm on Ferrell's three-pointer
Buducnost VOLI Podgorica snapped a two-game losing streak by knocking off ratiopharm Ulm 105-100 in an overtime thriller at home. Buducnost wasted a 13-point fourth-quarter lead as the game went to overtime where Yogi Ferrell knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with 10 seconds to go.
Buducnost improved to 3-4 in Group A and also ended its four-game losing skid against Ulm with its last win over the German side dating back to October 20, 2021. Fletcher Magee was Buducnost’s leading scorer with 23 points while McKinley Wright collected 18 points, Ferrell finished with 17 and Kenan Kemanjas chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds.
Ulm fell to 4-3 with its third loss in the last four games - all of the defeats coming on the road and all of them conceding more than 100 points. Justinian Jessup scored 25 points, Noa Essengue had 21 and Philipp Herkenhoff tallied 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Ulm jumped ahead 2-5 in the opening minute but watched as the hosts picked up their game pretty quickly with Kamenjas converting a three-point play and Wright hitting a triple in a 14-5 spurt to lead 16-10. After Ulm charged back to knot the game 19-19, Magee converted a three-point play and drained a triple to give Buducnost a 25-22 lead following 10 minutes of action.
Baskets by Tobias Jensen helped Ulm get within 29-28. Ferrell answered with 4 points at the other end and it was 36-28. Ulm knocked down 5 three-pointers in the final 5 minutes of the first half and tied it again 42-42. But it was Buducnost that led at the break 44-42.
Buducnost had the better start to th second half and led 51-45. Ulm continued to use its outside shooting with 3 three-pointers in a 2-12 run to pull ahead 53-57. And it was 58-62 when Buducnost shot down the Ulm offense for the final 3:17 minutes for a 12-0 run and the home side was ahead 70-62 after 30 minutes.
After hitting a triple at the buzzer of the third quarter, Ferrell started the final frame with a three-pointer as well in pushing the advantage to 73-62. Essengue ended Ulm’s 4:40-minute scoreless stretch. The score was 80-67 and Ferrell added another basket to give the hosts an 82-70 lead with just more than 6 minutes to go. Ferrell was called for a technical on the play though and that started a 2-15 run for Ulm that included 6 points from Essengue and a triple from Isaiah Roby to reclaim the lead 84-85 with 105 seconds left. After Rasheed Suliamon’s long jumper, Jessup drained a step-back three-pointer to make it 86-88. Kemanjas scored with 17 seconds left to tie the game but missed the bonus free throw. Ulm had the final chance to win the game but Jallow’s three-pointer at the buzzer was off target, sending the game to overtime.

The extra period had a number of big baskets with Magee draining a triple and Jessup hitting a three at the other end to tie it again 95-95. Nikola Tanaskovic made it 97-96 before Suliamon fouled out on an unsportsmanlike foul, which resulted in Roby free throws and a Alfonso Plummer triple for a 97-100 Ulm lead. Magee tied the game yet again from deep and then Ferrell delivered the game-winning triple with 10 seconds left.
