U-BT Cluj-Napoca reached an agreement with experienced center Andrija Stipanovic to remain together for another season, the club announced Tuesday. Stipanovic (2.08 meters, 36 years old) averaged 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 16 EuroCup games last season. He ranked eighth in two-point shooting (70.7% 2FG) and led all players who took more than 7 attempts (7.2) per night.
Cluj and veteran center Andrija Stipanovic stay together
Stipanovic started his professional basketball career with Hermes Analitica Zagreb, Split and Velika Gorica of his native Croatia. He also played for Liege Basket of Belgium, Caserta and Vanoli Cremona of Italy, Telenet Ostend of Belgium, Trabzonspor and Buyukcemece of Turkiye, Cedevita Zagreb of Croatia and Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia before joining Cluj in 2021. He has helped Cluj win three consecutive Romanian League championships and lift the Romanian Cup in 2023, too. He helped Cedevita Zagreb win the Croatian League and Cup double in 2018 and defend the Croatian Cup in 2019.
In 81 career EuroCup games with Ostend, Trabzonspor, Cedevita Zagreb, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana and Cluj, Stipanovic has amassed 855 points (10.6 ppg.) and 387 rebounds (4.8 rpg.). He ranks seventh all-time in two-point shots made, 367, and is set to move up a few spots on the list this season.
