Keith Hornsby and Will Cummings became the go-to-guys that helped Boulogne Metropolitans 92 get past visiting Lokomotiv Kuban, combining for 22 points in the last 10 minutes.
Cummings, Hornsby come up big in fourth quarter
Despite leading 29-24 at the end of the first quarter, Boulogne Metropolitans 92 was unable to take charge of the game it played against short-handed Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. Led by Darius Thomas, who had 15 of his 23 points in the first half, and Errick McCollum who finished with 17, the visitors built a slim advantage that lasted until the first minutes of the last quarter, 72-76. It was then that Hornsby and Cummings showed up and took turns to fuel their team to a valuable win.

Hornsby opened fire with 10 points in 3 minutes, which included a couple of threes and a long jumper, to make it all square, 82-82, with 6 minutes remaining. Once Lokomotiv managed to stop him, it was time for Cummings, who stepped onto the floor to tie it again, 84-84, and later at 90-90 entering the last minute. A key three-pointer with just 17 seconds remaining put Metropolitans in charge for good as Thompson’s miss from deep on the next possession ended up in Cummings’s hands and turned into a couple of free throws that secured the win for the home team.
