Former champ gives Turk Telekom a boost

Veteran center Michael Eric was a big part of Turk Telekom's 84-89 win over London Lions. The triumph improved Turk Telekom's record to 12-5, secured it home-court advantage in the eighthfinals, and left the team with a good chance of securing second place in Group B in next week's regular-season finale. Eric, a 2018 EuroCup champion with Darussafaka Istanbul, came off the bench and played just 13:15 minutes, but it was enough to dominate the paint. He made 6-of-7 two-point shots in scoring 13 points and pulled down 5 rebounds. In his time on the floor, Eric had a +17 in +/- column, by far the highest of any player in this game.

Childs's playoff-clinching monster performance

Veolia Towers Hamburg pulled out a thrilling, playoff-clinching 89-87 win over Dolomiti Energia Trento and big man Yoeli Childs had a huge performance on the glass. Childs pulled down 20 rebounds, which are tied for third-most all-time in the competition, including 11 offensive rebounds which are tied for the all-time record and the EuroCup's most in 20 years. Childs also scored 18 points on 9-for-15 shooting and had 4 assists for a PIR of 36, tying his personal best in the team's most important game of the season.

Nikolic led the offense against familiar opposition

Germani Brescia improved its position in the Group A standings by holding off Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana 84-82 on Tuesday night. Brescia's mid-season addition, point guard Aleksej Nikolic, set a career-high by dishing 8 assists, in addition to sinking both of his three-point attempts. Nikolic spent 21 minutes on the floor against the club from his native land, against several of his fellow Slovenian national team members on the other side, and he guided Brescia to a big lead which it managed to preserve.

Benite needed little time to shine

It's hard to find a more productive role in Round 17 than what Vitor Benite did for Gran Canaria in a resounding 69-94 road win at Buducnost VOLI Podgorica. Benite spent just over 11 minutes on the floor, and during that time made both of his two-point shots and 2-of-3 three-pointers for 10 points. Benite opened his account with 2:00 minutes left in the first quarter, with Gran Canaria up 11-18, sparking a 0-6 quarter-ending run, and then strung together 8 more points, including back-to-back threes in the first 4 minutes of the second quarter to make it 16-35. His 10 points in a 5-17 run put Gran Canaria in control and the team never looked back.

Hawley's best game in an Ulm uniform

On Wednesday night, ratiopharm Ulm registered an important 78-85 road win at Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, and it was a big night for Ulm's first-year forward Joshua Hawley. Hawley set personal bests with 15 points, 5 steals and a PIR of 22. He was 5-of-9 from the floor, including 2-for-2 from long range, and also pulled down 6 rebounds. Hawley scored 10 points in the first half, helping Ulm build a 34-54 halftime lead, then had 3 steals in the final quarter to help preserve it and improve to a 10-7 record in Group A, with a great chance to secure home-court advantage in the eighthfinals.

Feliz all over Joventut's win in Venice

Joventut Badalona kept alive its chances to win Group A with a 74-80 win at Umana Reyer Venice behind the play of its point guard Andres Feliz. The 25-year old finished the game with 13 points, tied his career high with 7 assists, and was tied for a team-high with 7 rebounds. It is not the first time this season Feliz came close to a triple-double, but it was the first time he scored in double figures while posting at least 7 assists and rebounds apiece. And he did all that in 23 minutes and 15 seconds on the floor.
