Dolomiti Energia Trento defeated Slask Wroclaw 85-79 at home for its third victory in four games behind a monster game from Kamar Baldwin. The guard led the way with 26 points and a personal-best 11 assists for his first-ever EuroCup double-double. Baldwin made 8 of 10 two-pointers and added 2 rebounds, 1 block and 6 fouls drawn for a career-high PIR of 34. He had 8 points in the fourth quarter, including a bomb from downtown that sealed the outcome, 83-76, down the stretch. Trento is one win ahead of the playoff cut and Baldwin keeps improving as the season goes on.
Hamburg's Will Christmas posted his first double-double
Veolia Towers Hamburg rallied from a double-digit margin to force overtime against Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul. Will Christmas was all over the place in his team's comeback and buried a huge three-pointer with 3.0 seconds left that helped force overtime. Christmas recorded his first-ever EuroCup double-double, setting new career highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds. He added 3 assists, 2 steals and 6 fouls drawn for a PIR of 29, which was also a personal best. With his team down 61-71 with 7 minutes left, Christmas had 12 points in those minutes to take the game to the extra period, in which Besiktas prevailed 83-94.
Rayjon Tucker sets career-highs in Reyer victory
Rayjon Tucker has earned a reputation as a human highlight reel due to his outstanding dunks and high-flying blocked shots. He has also been a main factor in Umana Reyer Venice's comeback this season and was again at the forefront in Round 15 against Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana. Tucker led Reyer to a 93-104 road win with personal bests of 24 points and a PIR of 29. He buried 5 of 7 three-pointers, which was also a career-high. Tucker added 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 4 fouls drawn in almost 35 minutes on the court. Over his last three games, Tucker has averaged 20.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.3 fouls drawn and a PIR of 23.3. He has stepped up at the right time, allowing Reyer to keep its playoff hopes alive.
Okben Ulubay's 5 threes lifted Turk Telekom
Turk Telekom Ankara avenged its defeat in last season's EuroCup Finals by beating Dreamland Gran Canaria 73-83 to improve to 6-9 and remain in the playoff hunt. After a quiet first half, Okben Ulubay made it rain after the break, guiding Turk Telekom to an important road win. Ulubay had 3 points in the first 29 minutes but buried a three-pointer late in the third quarter that helped him find his rhythm. Ulubay struck three more times from downtown to seal the outcome, 59-73, long before the final buzzer. He finished the game with 15 points on 5-of-7 three-point shooting, 2 rebounds and 4 steals as Turk Telekom improved its chances to advance from the regular season.
Tyson Ward dished career-best 7 assists in Paris rout
Tyson Ward played a critical role in helping Paris Basketball beat second-ranked Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv 86-104 in Belgrade, Serbia. The victory clinched first place in Group A for Paris, which took another step toward finishing the regular season with the best overall record. Ward finished the game with 7 assists, more than doubling his previous best mark, and also added 13 points on 4-of-8 three-point shooting, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 fouls drawn for a PIR of 17. He was among the leaders as Paris tallied a season-high 29 assists.
