Veolia Towers Hamburg added depth to its roster by signing Anthony Polite until the end of the season, the club announced on Saturday. Polite (1.98 meters, 25 years old) arrives from LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne where he saw limited action in eight Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and six French League games.
This is Polite's first professional season in Europe. He spent the past five years at Florida State University, where he averaged 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 24 games last season. A native of Switzerland, Polite suffered an injury in his first season at Florida State and had to redshirt. He then increased his totals in all the main areas – minutes, points, rebounds and assists – over the next four years, apart from his last year as he dropped from 10.1 points per game to 9.9.
