Gearing up for its 7DAYS EuroCup debut, Hapoel Tel Aviv has put scoring power in its backcourt by signing guard Xavier Munford for the 2022-23 season, the club announced on Monday. Munford (1.93 meters, 30 years old) last played with South East Melbourne in Australia where he averaged 16.6 points, 4.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals in the NBL. Munford now returns to the EuroCup after making his debut in the 2020-21 campaign, playing 10 regular season appearances with Frutti Extra Bursaspor and posting 13.4 points, 3.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds.

The first five seasons as a pro, he spent mostly spent in his native United States, with brief stops in Spain and China. His only other European experience came with FC Barcelona late in the 2016-17 season, and played five games' worth of limited action in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, and six in the Spanish League. During his career, he has also appeared in 20 NBA games with Memphis and Milwaukee over two seasons, putting up 4.2 points in 13.3 minutes per game. In four playoff games with Memphis, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 22.3 minutes. The bulk of his pro experience has come in the D-League, with large stints at Bakersfield, Greensboro, Wisconsin and Delaware. He also played two games in China with Fujian in 2018. Munford has also been a member of the USA national team since 2017.
