Antonio Blakeney paced a balanced Hapoel attack with 20 points
Hapoel overpowers Joventut, 95-70
Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv cruised to a 95-70 victory over struggling Joventut Badalona on Wednesday at Samokov Arena in Bulgaria to move into a share of third place in Group A at 6-4. Hapoel led from tip to buzzer, with the margin reaching as high as 32. The loss dropped Joventut to 3-7 on the season.

Madar made his presence felt from the start with an assist to Ish Wainright for the game’s first points followed by a defensive rebound to get Hapoel going in transition. Tomic got Joventut on the scoreboard with a free throw before Beverley’s second layup of the night made it 9-1 and prompted a Joventut timeout after a little more than 2 minutes of action. Robertson drilled a three-pointer for Joventut’s first basket and Joventut slowly closed to within 11-9 through Dotson and Robertson. Beverley remained hot with a three-pointer and an assist for a Bingam dunk as Hapoel pulled away again. Wainright's three-point play made it 19-10. Robertson and Beverley traded triples as Hapoel remained in control, but Bingam’s second foul sent him to the bench alongside Bruno Caboclo, who was also in early foul trouble. A pair of buckets by Blakeney gave Hapoel a double-digit lead, 28-17. Joventut took advantage of Hapoel’s foul woes by feeding Pustovyi for 4 quick points before a pull-up jumper by Dotson made it 30-23 after 10 minutes.
The pace remained fast with the onset of the second quarter with Joe Ragland dishing a pair of assists and Caboclo dunking twice as Hapoel restored a double-digit lead. Blakeney’s fastbreak slam after a Bar Timor steal made it 40-27. Joventut continued to press its advantage in the paint, but had no answer for Hapoel at the other end. A Joe Ragland-to-Blakeney alley-oop extended the lead to 46-29. Tomic scored again for Joventut before Beverley's third three of the night ended that half at 51-35.
Sam Dekker looked to get more involved for Joventut, but on the other end, Beverley found Bingham twice for dunks as the margin grew to 20 points. After a timeout, Tomic found Dekker for a reverse layup and then the center scored twice to trim the deficit to 57-44. The Hapoel attack went cold and Robertson and Dotson extended the Joventut tun to 11 unanswered points. Madar came to the Hapoel rescue with a three and a dish to Tomer Ginat. Soon after, Madar took over with 6 straight points, the last coming on a strip of Keye Van Der Vuurst that he took in for a layup and a 69-52 lead. Ginat made it 74-54 with a layup in the closing seconds of the third quarter.
Hapoel put the game away with an 11-0 run to open the fourth quarter during which Ragland scored 4 points, dished an assist and collected 1 steal. Dotson made free throws to stop the Joventut drought. The margin peaked at 88-56 on a Blakeney triple with 6 and a half minutes remaining. Even though both Hapoel centers, Caboclo and Bingham, fouled out, the margin would prove to be too great for Joventut to overcome.
