The forward returns to Europe after three seasons in the NBA
Hapoel Tel Aviv inks Ish Wainright

Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv signed forward Ish Wainright to a multi-year deal, the club announced Wednesday morning. Wainright (1.96 meters, 29 years old) has spent the last three seasons in the NBA, mostly with the Phoenix Suns. He also played briefly for Portland Trail Blazers last season. Wainright averaged 3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds over 116 games in the time. He also played briefly for Portland’s G-League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.
In Tel Aviv, Wainright will be reunited with his college teammate Johnathan Motley. The duo spent three seasons together at Baylor University. Wainright played an additional season of American Football at Baylor in 2017-18 before beginning his professional basketball career in Europe. He played a season each in Germany for Nuernberg Falcons and Rasta Vechta and another in France for SIG Strasbourg.
