Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv has signed another player directly from the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague by penning swingman John Holland to a deal for the coming season. Holland (1.96 meters, 34 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade. He averaged 3.6 points in 22 EuroLeague games. Holland, who also helped Zvezda win the Serbian League and Cup double, joins Kyle Alexander, who signed with Hapoel earlier in the week.

A two-time EuroCup finalist
Holland brings extensive EuroCup experience with him to Tel Aviv, too. He has played five EuroCup seasons for as many different clubs and has twice been to the finals. The first time was with UNICS Kazan in 2021 and he helped Frutti Extra Bursaspor on its Cinderella run to the title game in 2022. Holland debuted in the EuroCup with Cajasol Seville for the 2012-13 campaign and spent the next season with BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque in France and the following one in Turkey with Besiktas Istanbul. He has averaged 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 69 career EuroCup game.
Returning to Israel
This will mark Holland's second stint in Israel. He played for Hapoel Jerusalem in the 2019-20 campaign and helped it win the Israeli Cup. Holland started his professional basketball career with French side Chorale Roanne and has also played for the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, the Canton Charge and Austin Spurs in the G-League, Beijing Dongfang in China, Santeros de Aguada and Cariduros de Fajardo in Puerto Rico and San Miguel Beerman in the Philippines.
