Lietkabelis Panevezys announced on Tuesday the arrival of young shooting guard Mantas Rubstavicius who arrives on-loan from Zalgiris Kaunas. Rubstavicius (1.98 meters, 20 years old) returns to his hometown where he started his professional career as a 16-year old Lietkabelis in the 2018-19 campaign. He then spent three seasons with Zalgiris, where he made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut last season, appearing in Round 34 game against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and scored a pair of free throws in his 2-minute appearance. Domestically, playing for Zalgiris second team in Lithuanian Second division, he averaged 10.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
Rubstavicius played with U18 Zalgiris team in the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournaments in 2019 and 2020, and in total of 11 appearances he has averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals. Rubstavicius is now set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut.
