Lietkabelis Panevezys announced the signing of playmaker Stefan Peno for the coming season. Peno (1.94 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Bilbao Basket, where he averaged 1.8 points and 0.8 assists in limited minutes last season. He started the season with Lithuanian side Prienai. Peno brings with him two seasons of EuroCup experience with ALBA Berlin, during which he averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 assists per game.

After suffering a season-ending knee injury in February 2019, he missed most of the following season. Peno played for RASTA Vechta in Germany in 2020-21. He grew up with the OKK Belgrade youth system before FC Barcelona signed him when he was 15 years old. He made his professional and EuroLeague debuts with Barcelona. Peno has won the German League and Cup once each with ALBA and has won silver medals at the European U16 and U18 levels with the Serbian national team.
