Turk Telekom will host ratiopharm Ulm next week in the quarterfinals, the furthest that the team from the Turkish capital has made it in its seven EuroCup seasons to date. Turk Telekom lifted its overall record for the season to 14-5. Brescia was eliminated in its first-ever EuroCup postseason game and finished the season with a 9-10 record.

Berk Demir for the hosts and Gabriel for Brescia traded triples to open the scoring, then repeated themselves for a 6-6 tie. Gabriel put Brescia ahead with free throws and a dunk at 7-12, but Sestina slammed and blasted a triple to put Turk Telekom up 14-12. Massinburg flipped the scoreboard from the arc before Bouteille beat the buzzer for a 17-15 Turk Telekom lead after 10 minutes. Massinburg buried 2 more triples around one from Bouteille for a 20-21 Brescia advantage early in the second quarter. Nicola Akele made it 20-25 for Brescia from deep before Bouteille scored 3 the hard way and Yilmaz converted a fastbreak at 25-25. Jones broke pair of ties with inside baskets, but David Cournooh and Christian Burns matched him at 29-29. Cournooh and Amadeo Della Valle joined Brescia's three-point parade for a new high lead, 38-31, but Yilmaz and Tony Taylor filled a 5-0 closing run for Turk Telekom to draw within 36-38 at halftime.

Duelling dunks by Tai Odiase and Jones gave way to Bouteille's triple to flip Turk Telekom in front, 41-40, right after the break. Jerian Grant added a layup for the hosts , but Petrucelli beat the shot clock with a one-legged triple to tie 43-43. Demir reappeared from the arc but Massinburg and Mike Cobbins dunked for Brescia to take back a 46-47 edge. Back and forth they went until Bouteille's next triple made it 51-49. Massinburg stopped and popped to tie again but a three-point play by Taylor and a free throw by Yilmaz took Turk Telekom ahead 57-53. Burns and Massinburg, with a three-point play, forced the seventh lead change of the quarter, at 57-58 for Brescia, but Jones put back a miss on the buzzer for the eighth one and a 59-58 Turk Telekom advantage after 30 minutes.

Taylor and Yilmaz fed Jones for a pair of baskets to raise the Turk Telekom lead to 64-58 early in the fourth. When Yilmaz found Sestina for a triple, the hosts had the game's high lead, 67-58. Petrucelli had 5 points to cut the difference to 71-65 with 5 minutes left. Bouteille scored 90 seconds later on a floater at 73-65. There it stood until Massinburg's fastbreak layup at 73-69 with 41 seconds left. Grant hit free throws next to seal the deal and send Turk Telekom forward to the quarterfinals.

Paris became the fifth French League team to reach the EuroCup Quarterfinals, after LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, AS Monaco, Strasbourg and Metropolitans 92. Lietkabelis lost in the eighthfinals for the second consecutive campaign, finishing the 2022-23 EuroCup season with a 10-9 record.

[Promitheas Patras secured an 89-75 victory over Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse on Wednesday](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/promitheas-overpowers-bourg-to-advance-to-quarterfinals/) night at Dimitris Tofalos Arena to seal a spot in the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals. [Gran Canaria returned to the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals by downing Frutti Extra Bursaspor 72-66 in the do-or-die eighthfinals](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/gran-canaria-eliminates-bursaspor-72-66/) at home on Wednesday. Gran Canaria reached the quarterfinals for the eighth time in club history and is set to face Paris Basketball in the next phase. Despite being without D.J. Kennedy and having Caleb Agada not enter the game, the No. 1 seed from Group A found a way to extend its winning streak to 12 games in the EuroCup. Illia Sydorov paced Prometey with a game-high 21 points. D.J. Stephens, who was initially an injury doubt, had 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Gian Clavell and Ondrej Balvin scored 14 points apiece. Issuf Sanon contributed 13 points, too. For the visitors, Yoeli Childs recorded a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double and Harrison Cleary finished with 19 points. Ziga Samar and Lukas Meisner also reached double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

The final game of the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup Eighthfinals will pit two veteran scorers against one another when [Axel Bouteille](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/axel-bouteille/003840/) and Turk Telekom Ankara host Germani Brescia and [Amedeo Della Valle](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/amedeo-della-valle/005884/). Turk Telekom (13-5) has earned home-court advantage as the second-placed team in Group B while Brescia (8-10) was seventh in Group A.

This contest is set to be Bouteille's 70th appearance in the EuroCup, and the first time he will play an elimination game. On the other hand, of Della Valle's 73 appearances in the competition, seven have come in the EuroCup Playoffs.

Bouteille arrives to his EuroCup postseason premier behind a career-best season. He ranks fifth in scoring with 17.7 points per game and fifth with  2.7 three-pointers per game. He's piling up the points based on 59.2% two-point and 43.2% three-point shooting. Bouteille also averages 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Della Valle, who is posting 14.6 points per game, has not shot the ball as well as Bouteille. The Brescia guard has been dishing 4.6 assists per game and averaging 1.5 rebounds for an average PIR of 17.0, just behind Bouteille's 17.7.

The two players are each in their fifth EuroCup season and have played against each other twice before, with both of those meeting having taken place in January 2018 when Bouteille was with Limoges CSP and Della Valle with Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia.

Reggio Emilia went on to the semifinals in that 2017-18 season and Della Valle earned All-EuroCup First Team honors. In their head-to-head games, Della Valle and Bouteille split Top 16 home wins, but Della Valle had a lot more prominent role in those two games.

That included his career-best PIR of 38 in Reggio Emilia's 87-54 victory, in which he led the way with 22 points on 4-for-5 three-point shooting, along with a career-high 9 rebounds and also 4 assists and 3 steals. Bouteille finished with 9 points and 2 rebounds in 26 minutes of that loss.

Later that month, in Limoges, Bouteille contributed 4 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in an 80-71 home victory while Della Valle had 18 points in 32 minutes for Reggio Emilia.

Bouteille is a much bigger protagonist this season and will be inspired to get a home win that this time will be worth a place in the EuroCup Quarterfinals. Brescia, on the other hand, will need Della Valle to be at his best and perhaps seeing Bouteille on the other end will inspire him to another major performance. 

Either way, the two veterans will have plenty to say in the last eighthfinals showdown whose winner is slotted to play ratiopharm Ulm in the quarterfinals next week.

It all came together for ratiopharm Ulm in the third quarter on Wednesday as it completed a 17-point comeback to eventually defeat Buducnost VOLI Podgorica 92-83 and advance to the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals.

The game had been completely in the visitors' control as Buducnost led by 16 after 10 minutes, pushed it to 16-33 on the first shot of the second quarter, and still held an 11-point cushion at halftime. 

Until that point, Ulm had been held together by Fedor Zugic, whose 14 first-half points accounted for a third of his team's tally. Zugic, a 19-year-old from Montenegro who began his professional career with Buducnost, stung his former team with those points without missing a single shot in his 11 first-half minutes.  

Ulm was going to need help from more players to get back in the game, however. That effort started on defense and led to a tag-team approach on offense with Yago Dos Santos, Juan Nunez, Brandon Paul and Bruno Caboclo each carrying the team for stretches as Ulm stormed back into the game. 

"We allowed only 9 points in the third quarter, which gave us the chance to hope, and I think then offensively it just came because we started playing defense," Ulm head coach Anton Gavel said in the post-game press conference. "We were capable of going out on transition after a couple of stops and created a couple of good looks for our shooters, especially for Brandon \[Paul\], and then it was easier life for us once we started playing defense. It took us 20 minutes, but we made it happen."

After Caboclo and Philipp Herkenoff scored Ulm's first 4 points of the second half, a triple by Dos Santos opened things up. He later set up Paul for a three-pointer and drove for another bucket, igniting a 17-2 run. Another Dos Santos assist to Paul, this time at the basket, got Ulm within 1. Thomas Klepeisz completed the comeback with a three-point runner off one leg at 61-59.

The final basket of that run was a triple by another teenager, Nunez, who also drew 3 fouls and added an assist to Robin Christen during the run. After a three late in the quarter by Buducnost's Marko Jagodic-Kuridza, Nunez raced the other way and beat the third-quarter buzzer with a layup for a 68-62 lead.  

Buducnost was hoping to turn things around in the fourth quarter, but instead ran into Paul. The sharpshooter had 10 points in the first 5 minutes of that stanza, including 7 within 35 seconds; after a four-point play with a little more than 5 minutes left in the game, Paul drained his fourth three-pointer to make it 80-69. Caboclo then became the force for Ulm, tallying 7 points, 3 rebounds and 1 block in the closing stretch to secure the win.  

Though the pattern may not have been what Gavel drew up, the tag-team effort with four scorers in double figures and another four between 6 and 8 points is the way Ulm played its best and led to a historic comeback. Trailing 16-33 early in the second half seemed to be an insurmountable deficit. And history would agree. In do-or-die games in EuroCup history, no team ever came back from that large a deficit. Teams had fought back from greater deficits in elimination rounds, but always earlier in the series and never in an elimination game. 

But overcoming a big deficit was secondary on the Ulm players' minds after the game. More important to them was figuring out how to bottle what worked and use it next week in the quarterfinals.

"Intensity and every player playing harder," Caboclo said. "In the beginning, we didn't do that. So the second half, we did an even better job. If we play like this, we have a very strong team."

Paris Basketball advanced to the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals by edging 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys 97-98 in a spectacular eighthfinals game at Cido Arena on Wednesday with young Yuhann Begarin playing a critical role. The club from the French capital was the only team on the road to win and advance among Wednesday's six games.

The club from the French capital was the only team on the road to win and advance among Wednesday's six games. 

At age 20, Begarin has been taking giant steps throughout the season to become one of the best young players in the competition. No performance was bigger than in this must-win game for Paris. He had 8 quick points to give Paris an early 8-10 lead and stepped up every time his team needed him, finding mismatches on offense due to his rare combination of athleticism, speed and one-on-one skills. 

Once Lietkabelis took a 50-46 margin after the break, Begarin was ready to respond, hitting a three-pointer, scoring off a steal and making sure his team got a 57-61 margin midway through the third quarter. When the dust settled, Begarin had been on the court for over 31 minutes, matching a career-high with 22 points on 5-of-7 two-point shooting and 6-of-8 free throws. He added 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 5 fouls drawn for a PIR of 22. 

Begarin leads all Rising Star eligible players in scoring with 12.2 points and ranks third overall in steals wth 2.0 per game. His greatest competitor in the face for the EuroCup Rising Star trophy, however, plays alongside him, as Ismael Kamagate also had a good performance against Lietkabelis and is the front-runner to win the award.

Kamagate narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points on 4-of-5 two-point shooting and 9 rebounds, plus 2 blocks and 4 fouls drawn for a PIR of 21 in less than 19 minutes of action. 

He's been all over the defensive stats categories, too. Kamagate ranks second in rebounds with 8.6 per night and is second in blocks at 1.5 per game. He is 15th in PIR average (17.1) despite seeing limited playing time. On a per 40-minute basis, Kamagate ranks fourth in PIR (29.6), seventh in blocks (2.6) and second in rebounds (14.8). 

"We've got a lot of athletic guys that can get out and run, so whether it is misses or makes, we try to get up and attack the rim," Tyrone Wallace said after the game. "We have a good team, and as long as we play together and stick together, we can go far."

With youngsters like Kamagate, Begarin and up-and-coming talent Mohamed Diawara, Paris has made sure to be a fun-to-watch team that is making history in the 2022-23 EuroCup. So far, it is the fifth French team to reach the EuroCup Quarterfinals, after LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, AS Monaco, Strasbourg and Metropolitans 92. Only ASVEL (2005-06) and Strasbourg (2006-07) managed to get this far in their first-ever EuroCup campaign.
