Round 12 marks the two-thirds mark of the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season, with games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Big performances, of course, could impact not only the playoffs race but also the battle among EuroCup Fantasy Challenge managers. Some players have been putting up solid numbers since the new year started, and the five below encompass bargain buys, newcomers and season-long performers. All are worth keeping an eye on when making trades before Tuesday's deadlines.

[Miquel Salvo, Gran Canaria](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/miquel-salvo/005005/) (7.9 credits) – Salvo notched his top performance over two seasons last week while drawing 7 fouls and making 11 free throws for a career-high 21 PIR. The small forward has scored at least 8 points in seven games this season and is a steady in head coach Jaka Lakovic's rotation, playing 20 minutes a night.

[Bruno Caboclo, ratiopharm Ulm](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/bruno-caboclo/012096/) (12.5 credits) – After playing parts of seven seasons in the NBA, Caboclo signed for Ulm until the end of 2024 earlier this month. In his first two games, he's averaging 15 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks while making 70% of his two-pointers. Imagine when he gets acclimated!

[Patrick Richard, U-BT Cluj-Napoca](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/patrick-richard/011801/) (12.6 credits) – Richard has been an all-around stats-filler all season, but his four best scoring games have been among the last five. He's the only EuroCup player averaging above 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game, plus he scores, making 73.5% of his two-pointers and 96.8% at the foul line.

[Amadeo Tessitori, Umana Reyer Venice](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/-amedeo-tessitori/003759/) (6.7 credits) – A veteran big man with four EurouCup seasons under his belt, Tessitori registered six career highs, including a PIR of 22 and 15 points, in Round 10, and followed that up with a PIR of 15 in Round 11. He's had double-digit PIRs whenever he gets 10 minutes or more on the floor this season.

[Lukasz Kolenda, Slask Wroclaw](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/lukasz-kolenda/011165/) (5.7 credits) – Kolenda is coming of Slask's bench this season and looking increasingly comfortable while averaging of 15.5 points over the last five games while drawing 4.0 fouls per game. He just posted career highs of 23 points and 29 PIR on the road in Round 11 and his team will need him in a do-or-die home date with Veolia Towers Hamburg.

London Lions vs. Gran Canaria: Contrasting experience but a shared ambition

On Tuesday night at Copper Box Arena, the London Lions (5-6) and Gran Canaria (9-2) go head-to-head in a battle between a newcomer to the 7DAYS EuroCup and a team that is enjoying its 15th season in the competition. There is a vast difference in the experience between the two sides, but they both share the same ambition: to one day play in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Gran Canaria is currently top of the Group B standings and has won its last five straight as it looks to reach Europe's premier club basketball competition by winning the EuroCup. London, meanwhile, recovered from a three-game losing streak in Round 11 by downing Dolomiti Energia Trento on the road and finds itself in seventh place in Group B.

When Gran Canaria hosted London in Round 3, Jaka Lakovic's team had a relatively comfortable night, winning 87-69 after a 16-point, 9-rebound performance by center Aleksander Balcerowski, but the Lions did not yet have star forward Sam Dekker available after he suffered an injury a few minutes into his season debut in Round 1.

Dekker ended up returning in Round 4 and since then he has averaged 20.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists on a nightly basis. Those performances have put Dekker in contention to be named the EuroCup MVP, as he also has the third-highest average PIR in the competition at 20.9. An MVP-like performance from Dekker is likely to be needed if London is to bring a stop to Gran Canaria's winning streak.

Another player who the Lions now have that wasn’t even on the roster when they last played Gran Canaria is Jordan Taylor, who has posted averages of 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 8.7 assists in his first three games for London. As Dekker highlighted in an interview with [EuroCupBasketball.com](http://EuroCupBasketball.com) prior to Taylor's debut, the veteran point guard brings another dimension to the team's offense.

"Jordan adds a lot. He just adds a steady guy. He's played in big games, he's played in big moments and he's not going to get rattled," explained Dekker. "If the \[other\] team hits a couple of shots, goes on a run, he's the kind of guy that will grab the ball - 'Hey, we're good. Settle down, we're fine' – \[and\] gets us into our spots. That's something you need; you need to have a pillar on that court that's not going to be rattled, whether things are going good or bad. \[He's\] such a good player, such a good point guard, so smart, and he's going to make our team go up a level."

In Round 11, Dekker had a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double in London's 70-84 win at Trento, while Taylor flirted with a triple-double with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The two Americans, in addition to veteran big man Kosta Koufos, will have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders against Gran Canaria.

The visiting team, meanwhile, comes into Tuesday night's contest feeling unstoppable. Three of the wins during Gran Canaria's five-game winning streak have come on the road, while the team's deep roster has meant that a variety of players are coming to the fore each night.

For example, on the road at Veolia Towers Hamburg in Round 9, Khalifa Diop, Nicolas Brussino and Vitor Benite all finished in double figures for points. In Round 10, Gran Canaria bested Slask Wrocalw in Poland with Diop, Brussino and Benite all scoring 10 points or more once again. This time, though, they were joined by Balcerowski (12 points) and David Mutaf (19).

Then, at home to Promitheas Patras in Round 11, Diop, Benite and Balcerowski reached double figures, while Brussino and Mutaf had 5 and 3 points, respectively. However, there were a couple of other Gran Canaria players who stepped up on the offensive end, as Damien Inglis scored a team-high 18 points and Miquel Salvo had 13 points.

Gran Canaria has plenty of threats that London will have to be wary of on Tuesday night, but with the Lions returning to Copper Box Arena, where they are 2-1 after going 0-2 at OVO Arena Wembley, the hosts will feel confident that another memorable night in this season's EuroCup is on the cards.

For the hosts, on the other hand, this is a must-win if they want to keep realistic chances of returning to the playoffs.

Paris Basketball has improved its record to 2-1 in this year's 7DAYS EuroCup after downing Dolomiti Energia Trento at BLM Group Arena on Tuesday night, while the Italian team now find itself 0-3 after the first three games.

Round 11 of the 7DAYS EuroCup saw several teams sitting in the middle of the standings in both groups score important victories. The closest of them was Joventut Badalona's 83-82 win over Frutti Extra Bursaspor in Group A. The victors got a timely shooting performance from Kyle Guy, who scored 25 points in only 28 minutes of action while going 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. Making several heavily contested shots and multiple attempts on the move, Guy ultimately did much of his damage from a full step beyond the arc. The longer range on his jumper was critical to his team's ability to seize control of the game in the second half.  

That type of long-range marksmanship is nothing new for Guy. He's one of just a handful of players whose average distance in making three-pointers sits near or above 7.5 meters. The table above lists the league-leaders in three-point distance among players with over 20 three-point makes this season. Considering the three-point line is 6.75 meters everywhere but the corners, these players are all knocking down some very deep shots. Even among the league's deepest shooters, this list has two obvious outliers: Yogi Ferrell and Thomas Klepeisz. 

Ferrell's pull-up jumper has been one of the most valuable offensive weapons in the EuroCup this season, but he has not been shy about firing up deep shots off the catch from kick-out passes in the rare moments he's operating off the ball. His range and accuracy are among the reasons he now leads the EuroCup in total points.

Klepeisz is an interesting case. He not only makes shots at an exceptional level running off screens, but is also able to change his mechanics completely and make shots from the corners without dipping the ball at all after catching it. That's a truly rare skill across the elite level of the sport, but especially at the level of accuracy he has shown this season.

This group is an interesting mix of on-ball and off-ball threats. A.J. Slaughter, Derek Needham, Yago Dos Santos and Tony Taylor all rank among the most prolific pull-up shooters in the league this season. Others like Guy and Robin Christen do much of their damage off the catch, whether by running off screens or spotting up on the wings. 

James Palmer warrants mention as the player with the most distinct blend of deep shots as the swingman does not hang his hat on any one thing as a shot-maker, making him a consistent headache for opposing defenders and part of the reason Bourg sits atop Group A.

Its notable that there are no big men in this top 10. Conor Morgan of WKS Slask Wroclaw is the first power forward in these rankings, falling just outside of the list above. Very few centers have made 10 three-point attempts this season and even those shooters who see some action at the center spot tend to attempt far shorter threes than their smaller counterparts.

Deep shots are not for everyone and do not necessarily define the value of a shooter, but players who can make shots accurately from well beyond the three-point line add a unique degree of spacing for their teams and often force adjustments from opposing defenses.

The season's longest-distance aces

Prometey continues to defy the odds in this year's EuroCup

All teams go through a long, tricky basketball season, but imagine having to play your home games 1,200-plus kilometers away from your city. That is the case for Prometey Slobozhanske, who has been forced to play its home fixtures in Riga, Latvia and Kaunas, Lithuania as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Despite that, Prometey has overcome a plethora of obstacles to have a 7-4 record in Group A of the 7DAYS EuroCup. Prometey, led by head coach Ronen Ginzburg, is currently on a four-game winning streak, with its latest victory being a 79-72 triumph over Germani Brescia at Arena Riga. As a result, the Ukrainian team now finds itself tied for second place in the standings, level with Joventut Badalona.

Of its last four games, two of the wins have come on the road and two have come in Riga. When looking at the season as a whole, the only home defeat that Prometey suffered was its only game away from Riga, as it lost 105-106 to ratiopharm in Kaunas in Round 6. In Latvia, it is 4-0.

Speaking after [Wednesday's game between Prometey and Brescia](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/game-center/2022-23/prometey-slobozhanske-germani-brescia/U2022/104/), the visiting team's head coach, Alessandro Magro, sent a message about the current situation in the hosts' home country of Ukraine.

"First of all, before speaking about basketball, I think it is very important to talk about the war \[in Ukraine\]," commented Coach Magro in his post-game press conference. "You know, the 30 seconds of silence before the game and a team that has to play in another country just because of the war. I think everybody has to do something to try to fix that problem."

Despite its sad situation away from the court, Prometey is impressing with its performances on the hardwood. In addition to being the fourth-best team in the entire EuroCup for points (85.6 ppg.) and rebounds (37.7 rpg.), it has several players that have helped make it one of the most exciting sides to watch in the competition.

For example, DJ Stephens is a highlight-reel play waiting to happen; Gian Clavell has scored a double-digit number of points in eight of his 11 games, while Caleb Agada has done so in all nine of his appearances; DJ Kennedy has the ability to cause all sorts of problems for opposition defenses; Ondrej Balvin shows veteran leadership on the interior and has hit double digits in each of his last five games; and Issuf Sanon has shown glimpses of the clear talent that he has. In short, Prometey is a lot of fun.

In the win against Brescia, Sanon and Kennedy led the way with 17 points apiece. Agada and Balvin contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively; Balvin finished with a double-double after grabbing 10 rebounds, too. Clavell had 9 points and Stephens scored 7, but the style of basketball implemented by Coach Ginzburg is clearly reaping its rewards.

"I think the players did a great job, especially on defense. I salute them," said Coach Ginzburg in his post-game flash interview. "We're going game to game; we're not thinking about four \[wins\] in a row or whatever. Any weaknesses, we'll try to improve them. When we start shooting well from the outside, it's tough to stop us."

Next week, Prometey travels on the road to face Frutti Extra Bursaspor, hoping to sweep last year's EuroCup runner-up after winning 90-84 in Round 3. It will not be easy for the Ukrainian team, who is 3-3 on its travels, but it has already shown so far this season that it can overcome adversity. 

Prometey is on a roll right now and has the chance to make it five wins from five, which could see it put serious pressure on the Group A leader, the 8-3 Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, who plays at the same time next Wednesday against 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys. But, as Coach Ginzburg stated, he just wants his players to take it one game at a time.

[J'Covan Brown](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/j-covan-brown/011991/) led Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv to a 95-79 win over Paris Basketball and in the process earned his second MVP of the Round honor in his just ninth appearance in the competition. His performance will enter the history books because Brown tied the EuroCup single-game record with 16 assists, joining Omar Cook who set the mark in November 2014. Brown was also just shy of achieving a triple-double, finishing the game with 17 points and 8 rebounds. He made 2 of 3 two-pointers and 4 of 7 threes. Brown's PIR of 33 was the highest in Round 11, and this marks the fifth time this season a Hapoel player earns MVP award.

The round's second-best PIR, 31, belongs to Paris big man [Ismael Kamagate](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/ismael-kamagate/011926/) after collecting 17 points and 12 rebounds. Polish champ Slask Wroclaw announced on Thursday the addition of power forward Sergiy Pavlov until the end of the current season.Pavlov (2.05 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Parnu Sadam of Latvia, where in 14 games he averaged 9.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists. 

Pavlov has spent most of his career in his native Ukraine. He started his career at Donetsk and then joined Khimik Yuzhne, where he played for four straight seasons. He also had a brief stint in Lithuania before returning to Ukraine and then he played for Melilla of the Spanish second division. Pavlov will be making his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Slask.
