### Kaba: double-double machine

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica big man Alpha Kaba had yet another solid performance in his team's 78-87 road victory over London Lions. Kaba finished the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double. It is the second time that Kaba has posted back-to-back double-doubles. He previously did so with Nanterre 92 during the 2020-21 Top 16. It was Kaba's eighth double-double, which ranks him second among active players in the competition, only trailing Alen Omic (15). Mario Austin is the EuroCup's all-time double-double leader with 16.

Alpha Kaba had 16 points and 11 rebounds against London Lions. It is the eighth double-double in his 7DAYS EuroCup career.

### Rookie Conditt stepped up big

George Conditt is a EuroCup rookie. He got off to a relatively quiet start for Promitheas Patras with 6.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 0.3 blocks and a PIR of 10.3 in 3 games. It looks like his adjustment period is over as Conditt had a monster performance in Promitheas's 81-77 victory over Veolia Hamburg Towers. He finished the game with 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and a PIR of 30, all new career-highs. Conditt is a highly-effective big man ready to power the glass: he's averaged 2.8 offensive boards in 20 minutes per night.

Veolia Hamburg Towers might have lost a close one in Patras, but center Yoeli Childs had a monster game with 17 points and a club-record 16 rebounds, including 7 on the offensive end, which is tied for a Hamburg single-game record. It also helped the team to pull down 49 rebounds, Hamburg's most in a single EuroCup game, however, it was just not enough to pull out this road win.

Erkan Yilmaz had yet another effective performance against Slask Wroclaw. Turk Telekom Ankara is on a three-game winning streak.

### Yilmaz hardly missed

Turk Telekom Ankara swingman Erkan Yilmaz has been highly effective in the last three rounds, after going 0-of-6 from downtown in his team's season opener. Since then, Yilmaz has shot the ball close to perfection. In the last three games, in which Turk Telekom has gone 3-0, Yilmaz has made 8 of 9 two-pointers (88.9% 2FG) and 4 of 4 three-pointers (100%) for an average PIR of 15.0. In Round 4 against Slask Wroclaw, Yilmaz only needed 16 minutes to score 8 points on 4-of-5 two-point shooting plus 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal for a PIR of 14. He is a key piece on a surging team.

### Slaughter's three-point barrage

AJ Slaughter kept making shots in the second half of Gran Canaria's 81-89 road win over Paris Basketball. After scoring just 5 points in the first half, Slaughter netted 19 points in the third and fourth quarters combined. He finished the game shooting 6-of-11 on three-pointers for 24 points. The veteran guard is now the league-leader with 4.0 triples made per game and he is shooting 51.6% from three-point land for the season.

### Allman dominated in a loss

Kyle Allman had an outstanding individual performance, despite his Paris Basketball falling at home to Gran Canaria. Allman finished with 30 points, as he shot 6-of-9 from two-point range, made 4-of-8 three-pointers and went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. He also dished 8 assists, grabbed 5 rebounds, had 3 steals, blocked 2 shots and drew 9 fouls. His performance index rating of 42 was the highest any player has accumulated in a game so far this season.

### Tokoto's turnaround

Hapoel Tel Aviv forward JP Tokoto started in each of the first three games this season and while playing a total of almost 46 minutes he managed just 6 points, making only 1-of-7 two-pointers. He did contribute in other departments, however, averaging 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Then in Round 4, Tokoto came off the bench and scored 18 points on 7-of-8 two-point shooting. He did not have an assist, but did pull down 6 rebounds and collected 3 steals, helping Hapoel to a 30-point win over Dolomiti Energia Trento.

### All-time Omic

This roll call list for Round 4 cannot be completed without Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana center Alen Omic. He became the all-time leader in total rebounds and defensive rebounds, and the first player ever to reach 500 defensive rebounds on Wednesday, and he did it in spectacular fashion during his team's loss against Umana Reyer Venice. Omic finished with 21 rebounds, including 15 on the defensive end. Those are not only career-high marks for the EuroCup's new rebounding king, but his 21 boards were also the second-most ever in a EuroCup game, topped only by Lazaros Papadopoulos’s 22 from 2004.

Round 4 MVP, Jaylen Hoard, Hapoel Tel Aviv

The 7DAYS EuroCup MVP for Round 4 is Hapoel Tel Aviv forward Jaylen Hoard. In his first-ever start in the competition, Hoard paced Hapoel to a dominant 93-63 victory over Dolomiti Energia Trento. He had an impressive all-around night, recording 22 points on 9-of-10 two-point shooting and going 4-of-4 from the free-throw line, while he also grabbed 9 rebounds, recorded 1 steal, had 2 blocks and drew 3 fouls all in just 21 minutes. That amounted to a PIR of 33, which was the most among players on winning teams in Round 4. Paris Basketball guard Kyle Allman had the highest PIR of the round, 42, in his team's 81-89 defeat at Gran Canaria after putting up 30 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks and 9 drawn fouls. Yogi Ferrell of Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana recorded a PIR of 35 in his side's 76-68 loss to Umana Reyer Venice. Ferrell produced 27 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 8 fouls drawn. Next was George Conditt of Promitheas Patras with a PIR of 30, having posted 22 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 blocks and 5 fouls drawn in an 81-77 win over Veolia Towers Hamburg. There was a tie for the fifth spot, as Jordan Floyd of Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse and Alen Omic of Cedevita had PIRs of 25. Floyd did so in a winning effort, with Bourg beating Germani Brescia 69-71. In that game, Floyd finished with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 10 fouls drawn. Omic, meanwhile, had 11 points, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 fouls drawn, but most notably he ended Cedevita's loss to Reyer with 21 rebounds, which saw him become the EuroCup's all-time rebounding leader.

### Individual highs: Alen Omic of Cedevita, 21 rebounds

Kyle Allman of Paris was the leading scorer in Round 4 of the EuroCup, finishing with 30 points in his team's loss to Gran Canaria. Allman raised his scoring average to 22.5 points per game and he is now second to Joe Young of Promitheas for the EuroCup lead. Young has averaged 24.2 points through four games. On the glass, Alen Omic of Cedevita dominated during his side's defeat to Reyer, grabbing 21 rebounds, which was 1 short of the competition's single-game record. His 9.8 rebounds per game tops the EuroCup this season. Four players had nights in which they recorded 8 assists in Round 4, with these being: Allman of Paris, Jerian Grant of Turk Telekom Ankara, Ferran Bassas of Gran Canaria, and J'Covan Brown of Hapoel. Brown, with 7.8 assists per game, and Grant, with 7.0 per game, are the top two assist men in the league this season. There was also a tie for steals, as Jordan McRae of Hapoel and Jeremiah Martin of Slask Wroclaw had 4 apiece. Grant and Kendale McCullum of Veolia Hamburg Towers are tied for first this season with 2.8 steals per game. Likewise, with blocks, George Conditt of Promitheas, Simon Birgander of Joventut Badalona and Josh Sharma of the London Lions all had 3 blocked shots to their name. Paris's Ismael Kamagate leads all players with 2.5 blocks per game.

With monster night, Omic becomes EuroCup's rebounding king

The 7DAYS EuroCup officially has a new chairman of the boards as Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana center Alen Omic became the competition’s all-time leader in career rebounds.

 

Omic corralled 21 rebounds and scored 11 points in Cedevita’s 76-68 loss at Umana Reyer Venice. It was a historic night for many reasons for the 30-year-old Slovenian big man.

 

The veteran center surpassed Valencia Basket's Bojan Dubljevic as the EuroCup’s rebounding king with 776 rebounds to Dubljevic’s 764. Omic grabbed 15 defensive rebounds to surpass Dubljevic’s 497 with exactly 500 defensive boards for his career - the first player to reach that mark. Those feats came one week after he became the EuroCup’s all-time leader in offensive rebounds, too.

His monster effort against Reyer saw him come within 1 rebound of the competition's single-game rebounding record, too. That record belongs to Lazaros Papadopoulos with 22 boards for Dynamo Moscow against Aris Thessaloniki on December 7, 2004. Omic is only the third player to collect at least 20 rebounds in a EuroCup game. Aside from Papadopoulos, Aleksandar Radojevic tallied 20 rebounds for Telekom Bonn against BCM Gravelines in December 2002.

 

Omic also moved into seventh place on the all-time EuroCup scoring charts during the game. He passed Alex Mumbru, who is now the Valencia Basket head coach, and finished the game with 1,199 points.

This is Omic’s ninth season in the EuroCup. He debuted with Olimpija Ljubljana in 2013 and has also played for Gran Canaria, Unicaja Malaga, Hapoel Jerusalem, Joventut Badalona and JL Bourg en Bresse. He won the EuroCup with Unicaja in 2017 and was named to the 2015-16 All-EuroCup First Team.

 

He is also the EuroCup all-time leader in two-pointers made (487), second in performance index rating (1,712) and tied for seventh in games played (118).

Hapoel Tel Aviv averaged 9 three-pointers made in its first three games of the EuroCup season, but only sank 2 during Wednesday night’s 93-63 rout of Dolomiti Energia Trento. However, Hapoel’s strategy to attack the paint mercilessly worked like a charm and led to a 30-point victory.

 

More than 6 minutes passed before Jordan McRae even attempted a three-pointer for the hosts. At that time, Trento was still holding strong. Soon after, Hapoel put together a 13-3 run to close the first quarter with a 28-18 lead and never looked back.

Throughout the first half, the shots were coming mostly either from dribble penetration from guards J’Covan Brown and Xavier Munford or fastbreak opportunities. Indeed for the game, Hapoel scored 14 points off of fastbreaks compared to a single point for Trento.

 

Hapoel’s 18 assists were 3 less than its average entering the game, but the team also committed fewer turnovers – just 7.

As the game became a blowout in the second half, the hosts fired up more shots from deep, but for the game Coach Danny Franco’s team was 2 for 14 from behind the arc (14.3%). Nevertheless, those shooting numbers will not be what Hapoel takes away from this game. Instead, its excellent defense, great ball movement and superb play from guards and bigs alike give the EuroCup more confidence as it heads into the tougher part of its schedule in late November.

Lietkabelis grabbed its second consecutive home win by topping U-BT Cluj-Napoca 89-84 at Cido Arena in Group A. Jamel Morris led the way with 24 points as Lietkabelis improved to 2-2 in the standings. Zeljko Sakic added 16 points. Leo Meindl scored 22 points for Cluj, which dropped to 1-3.

ratiopharm Ulm bounced back from its last overtime defeat at home and pulled out a hard-fought 90-98 win at Tofas Spor Salonu. The visitors built a 16-point margin in the third quarter but saw Bursaspor rally back to tie it at 83-83 entering the last minute. Key free throws by Yago Dos Santos and Thomas Klepeisz ended up securing the win for Ulm, which improved to 2-2. Dos Santos led the way for the visiting team with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Onuralp Bitim paced the hosts with 19 points and 6 assists.

Hapoel never trailed in routing Trento 93-63 at Shlomo Group Arena to improve to 3-1 and remain tied for the top spot in Group B. The hosts outhustled Trento, scoring 14 fastbreak points to just 1 for Trento and getting 20 points off turnovers while allowing just 7. Jaylen Hoard started in place of the injured Chris Horton and dominated to the tune of 22 points on near-perfect shooting, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in just 21 minutes. The loss kept Trento winless through four games this season.

Reyer secured a big victory in Group A in defeating Cedevita at home for a second straight win. Reyer built a big lead in the second quarter and carried that to a 76-68 victory for a 2-2 record. Allerik Freeman led Reyer with 15 points and Marco Spissu added 12 points and 5 assists. Cedevita still has not won this season at 0-4 despite Yogi Ferrell pouring in 27 points and Alen Omic collecting 11 points and 21 rebounds to become the EuroCup’s all-time leader in rebounds.

Joventut extended its record to 3-1 after beating Prometey at Palau Olimpic de Badalona. A 13-point, 10-rebound double-double from Henry Ellenson and an 11-point, 8-rebound game from Joel Parra helped lead Joventut to an 82-77 victory, but Prometey fought back in the last quarter and made life difficult for the hosts. Prometey's Caleb Agada finished with a game-high 18 points, 7 of which came in the last 2 minutes of the game.

Gran Canaria, which finished with 13 three-pointers, improved to 3-1, while shorthanded newcomer Paris, missing half-a-dozen players due to injuries and illness, dropped to 2-2. AJ Slaughter scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half, shooting 6-for-11 from long range to lead the winners. Allman finished with 30 points. 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks for Paris.

Game Center: Wins for Granca, Hapoel keep them tied atop Group B

### Umana Reyer Venice head coach Walter de Raffaele:

"We went into the game planning to have solid defense for 40 minutes. We kept them to 68 points. We struggled in a couple of situations, we have to improve. But I think the defense really allowed us to make some mistakes on offense. I am really happy for the players."

Granger: 'It was a big step for us'

In a high-scoring game against one of the top-scoring teams in the competition, Gran Canaria turned to its offense in earning a valuable road win, downing Paris Basketball 81-89.

Gran Canaria, the best three-point shooting team in the competition averaging 12.8 per game, shot just 3-for-13 from long range in the first two quarters. But the visitors still held a 31-38 lead thanks to their activity on the offensive boards. Gran Canaria, which entered the game averaging 12.0 per night, pulled down 8 offensive boards in the first quarter alone.
