Joventut Badalona will be playing for the first time ever against Prometey Slobozhanske (2-1) on Wednesday in a Group A showdown in Spain. After losing the second game, Joventut (2-1) is back on the winning track. It is second in the EuroCup in assists (20.3) and best at shooting from beyond the arc (52.8%). The hosts have the upper hand on Prometey in shooting accuracy from all ranges, but the visitors excel on defense, which has already won them two games this season, surprising many. Clavell (17.3 ppg.), DJ Stephens (12.3 ppg., 8.7 rpg.) and Caleb Agada (12 ppg.) are the main offensive trio for Prometey, so Joventut will have to pay close attention to them while also watching those defensive rebounds, since Prometey is third in the competition in offensive rebounding (12.7 orpg.).

The debut season of the visitors continues to be on the rise, especially after a prestige win against Bursaspor. Jovenut averages a PIR of 99.3, so Prometey will have to work hard on all fronts in order to be in a position to win the game in Badalona. The London Lions welcome Buducnost VOLI Podgorica to the English capital on Tuesday night, but the game will not take place at its usual home of Copper Box Arena, as the 12,500-seat OVO Arena Wembley becomes the Lions' home for the night.

London began its debut 7DAYS EuroCup campaign with a loss on the road at Hapoel Tel Aviv, but in Round 2 it won on its home floor against Dolomiti Energia Trento to record the first victory for a British team in the EuroCup in 18 years. Another road defeat followed for London last week, this time against Gran Canaria, but back in front of its home support – and in a legendary venue like Wembley – it will be looking to put on another show. Star forward Sam Dekker could make his return from injury, too, which would be a big boost for head coach Ryan Schmidt.

It is a different story for Buducnost, as it looks to play the role of party pooper on London's big night. After tasting defeat to Veolia Hamburg Towers at Moraca Sports Center in the opening round, Buducnost responded with back-to-back triumphs over Slask Wroclaw on the road and then Promitheas Patras at home. Some Buducnost players, including first-year players Alpha Kaba and Trae Bell-Haynes, seem to have found their feet, with the team appearing to get better with each game. Buducnost is not going to be fazed going into Wembley, which is a scary prospect for London.

7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys and U-BT Cluj-Napoca face off at Cido Arena on Wednesday night with both teams looking to respond after disappointing results in Round 3 of the 7DAYS EuroCup.

On the road at Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, Lietkabelis (2-1) fell to an 86-73 loss, despite a 21-point night from Jamel Morris. Lietkabelis was defeated in the opening round by Prometey Slobozhanske, but it then bounced back by winning at home against ratiopharm Ulm. Back in the comforts of Cido Arena, the team will be out to make it two wins from two on its home floor, with Morris (14.3 ppg.), Kristian Kullamae and Gyorgy Goloman all likely to play key roles in any success that Lietkabelis has.

Cluj (1-2) has two defeats on its record after losing to Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse in Round 1 and Umana Reyer Venice in Round 3, with its only win coming at home over Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana. To this point, the team's only away game came against Bourg, so it will be without the significant support it receives at BTarena when it travels to take on Lietkabelis. Yet, if the likes of Leonardo Meindl (18.3 ppg., 8.3 rpg.), Jordan Taylor (14.3 ppg., 4 apg.) and Stefan Bircevic (13.3 ppg.) continue to play as they have in the opening three games, Cluj will fancy its chances.

Umana Reyer Venice hosts Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana at Palasport Taliercio on Wednesday night with both teams having failed to live up to the hype they generated over the summer. Although Reyer managed to record its first win in Round 3, Cedevita remains winless after the opening three games.

Reyer lost in Rounds 1 and 2, on the road at ratiopharm Ulm and at home to Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, before grabbing its first win in Romania at U-BT Cluj-Napoca, 80-85. After seeing the likes of new signings Derek Willis and Marco Spissu play pivotal roles in the win over Cluj, head coach Walter De Raffaele will hope that some of the other new arrivals can take another step forward. Up against a Cedevita team that is 0-3 on the season, and back in the comforts of Palasport Taliercio, Reyer will be out to put on a show in front of its home supporters.

There is still a long way to go in the season, but Cedevita needs to get its season back on track sooner rather than later, so turning up and stealing a win in Venice could be the medicine it needs. Cedevita had a tough start to the season, facing two of the favorites to win the 7DAYS EuroCup in Frutti Extra Bursaspor and Joventut Badalona at home in Rounds 1 and 3, and now it faces another team with one of the best rosters in the competition. Yet, if Cedevita is able to come away with a victory from Venice, it may provide the confidence boost that the team needs to start its rise up the standings.

In the first game to tip in Round 4, Promitheas Patras hosts Veolia Hamburg Towers in Group B on Tuesday at 18:30 CET. Promitheas (2-1) comes off its first loss of the season, in overtime against Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, 95-89. Hamburg (2-1) edged Slask Wroclaw 87-83 in Round 3. Promitheas is 8-0 against German teams in European competitions and 6-0 in the 7DAYS EuroCup. This marks Hamburg's first visit to Greece, which makes the game even more interesting. 

Promitheas relies on its uptempo offense to win the game. It leads the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup in scoring with 90.3 points per game and ranks third in three-point shooting percentage (42.3%). Joe Young (24.7 ppg.) leads the team in scoring, followed by Arnoldas Kulboka (13.3 ppg.) and Trevis Simpson (10.7 ppg.). Promitheas also averages 7.7 steals per game and putting pressure on Hamburg's guards Ziga Samar and Kendale McCullum may be a key to this game's outcome. 

Hamburg is shooting the ball even better from downtown, having made 43.5% of its three-point shots to rank second overall, only behind Joventut Badalona (52.8%). Unlike last season, Hamburg is not using the three-point shot as its main weapon, taking just 23.7 attempts from downtown. James Woodard (13.0 ppg.), Marvin Clark (12.0 ppg.) and McCullum (11.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg.) are leading the team. Cutting down on turnovers (16.3 per game) may be critical for the visitors. 

Promitheas, Hamburg finally meet

An intense game is expected at Palaleonessa A2a where Germani Brescia hosts Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse on Tuesday in Group A. Brescia (2-1) looks for its third consecutive victory, however, it will not be easy as Bourg (3-0) is the only undefeated squad left in the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup. This marks Bourg's first-ever visit to Brescia, which adds even more anticipation to this showdown, as both teams battle for first place in Group A. 

Brescia has bounced back from an opening night loss and has averaged 101.0 points in its two wins. Amedeo Della Valle (15.7 ppg., 4.7 apg.) has been its main pillar until now, followed by Troy Caupain (15.3 ppg.) and CJ Massinburg (11.0 ppg.). Brescia ranks third in defensive (29.3 drpg.) and total rebounds as well as in two-point shooting (59.5% 2FG). Powering the boards against a very physical team could be critical for the hosts. 

Bourg hopes to keep its great momentum going, particularly on defense. It has limited its last two opponents, Umana Reyer Venice and 7-Bet Lietkabelis Panevezys, to 73 points apiece. In those two games, Bourg held its opponents to a total of 24 assists and collected 16 steals. Putting pressure on Della Valle and Caupain is critical, as well as running its offense through Jordan Floyd (15.3 ppg.), Isiaha Mike (14.0 ppg.) and James Palmer (12.0 ppg.). 

Brescia hosts undefeated Bourg

Two of the most exciting teams to watch in Group A meet on Wednesday when Frutti Extra Bursaspor hosts ratiopharm Ulm. Bursaspor (2-1) comes off its first loss of the season and looks to bounce back in front of its fans. Ulm (1-2) has lost its last two games - the last one in overtime against Germani Brescia - and should be ready to bounce back against last season's runner-up. Expect an exciting game at Tofas Spor Salonu. 

Bursaspor has been playing with a shortened rotation due to injuries. Against Prometey Slobozhenske, foul trouble prevented the team from being more competitive. Help is on the way with the signing of swingman Sindarius Thornwell last week. Derek Needham (16.0 ppg.) and Onuralp Bitim (16.0 ppg.) have been its top scorers until now and Ahmet Duverioglu (10.3 ppg., 8.0 rpg.) leads the team in PIR (18.3). Bursaspor needs to improve its free throw percentage (58.5%) to be even more competitive. 

Ulm is rebounding well at the offensive end (11.0 orpg.) but is not doing that great until its own basket, getting just 24.7 defensive boards per night. Better, team-oriented boxing out is needed to get the defensive rebounds and find easy points in transition through Yago Matheus (8.7 ppg., 3.7 apg.), Juan Nunez (5.3 ppg., 5.3 apg.) and Fedor Zugic (9.0 ppg.). Stopping Duverioglu down low is key and Ulm relies on Sagaba Konate to do so.

Slask Wroclaw looks to get its first win of the season on Tuesday when it hosts Turk Telekom Ankara, which has won its last two games. Ironically, Slask (0-3) has played better on the road thus far this season and lost by only 4 points last week at Veolia Hamburg Towers after suffering a 40-point thrashing at the hands of Buducnost VOLI Podgorica at home the week before. Injuries have shortened the Slask rotation and only seven players are averaging more than 10 minutes played per game. Jeremiah Martin (16.3 ppg., 4 apg.) and sixth-man Lukasz Kolenda (14.0 ppg.) have been the team’s top weapons so far.

Turk Telekom (2-1) won by 5 at Hamburg two weeks ago and easily handled Hapoel Tel Aviv 89-77 at home last week. Axel Bouteille (17.3 ppg.) and Tony Taylor (16.5 ppg.) are among the top 10 scorers in the EuroCup this season, Tyrique Jones (12.7 ppg., 9.0 rpg.) is tied for third in rebounding and Jerian Grant (10.7 ppg., 6.7 apg.) is second in the competition in assists.

Shooting could be decisive in the clash with Turk Telekom leading the league in two-point accuracy (61.0%) and sixth in three-point shooting (36.5%), while Slask is last in three-point accuracy (23.9%) and third from bottom in two-point shooting (46.4%). Slask has also committed the second-most turnovers (16.7) and Turk Telekom is third in steals (9.3 spg.), so how well the hosts stand up to Turk Telekom’s defensive pressure could be a determining factor in this game.

Hapoel Tel Aviv will look to bounce back from its first EuroCup loss when it hosts Dolomiti Energia Trento, which is looking to snap a 15-game losing streak dating back to last season. Hapoel (2-1) bested two other EuroCup newcomers, London Lions and Paris Basketball, in its first two games before falling last week at Turk Telekom Ankara. While swingman Jordan McRae leads the team in scoring, playmaker J’Covan Brown (14 ppg., 9.7 apg.) is the competition leader in assists and big man Chris Horton (9.7 rpg.) is tied for the EuroCup lead in rebounds.

Trento’s (0-3) last two defeats have been by 6 and 5 points, respectively. It led after three quarters in London and had a late rally against Paris that fell short. Trento has a balanced attack with five scorers averaging double figures in points led by Diego Flaccadori (15.5 ppg., 6 apg.) and Drew Crawford (14 ppg.).

Rebounding may have a major say in the outcome of this game; Trento is third in the EuroCup with 12.7 offensive rebounds per game, however, Hapoel has been a master at locking down the defensive glass and has outrebounded opponents by 6.7 boards per game. Trento, in contrast, has been outrebounded by 2 rebounds per game. Expect plenty of great ball movement since these two teams are first and joint-second in assists with Hapoel averaging 21 per game and Trento 20.3.
