Patrick Beverley sidelined with quadriceps tear
Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv announced on Monday morning that star guard Patrick Beverley will miss time with a small tear in his quadriceps muscle. Beverley, 36, suffered the injury in the Tel Aviv derby against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in the Israel Basketball Super League. He was taken for an MRI after which the tear was diagnosed. Beverley will be reevaluated in two weeks.
The 2012 EuroCup MVP, Beverley returned to the competition over the summer after 12 season in the NBA. In 10 EuroCup games with Hapoel, Beverley has averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.7 steals for a PIR of 17.7. He ranks among the competition leaders in assists (fifth), steals (tied for sixth), defensive rebounds (4.2, ninth), free throw accuracy (95.5%, ninth) and PIR (10th).
