Umana Reyer Venice has signed a familiar face by securing guard Davide Casarin, who next season will start his second stint with the club. Casarin (20 years old, 1.97 meters) arrives from Tezenis Scaligera Verona, where he averaged 4.1 points and 1.8 assists in 30 Italian League games last season. He had a season-high 13 points in a 92-95 home loss against Reyer. In his first spell with Reyer, Casarin played a total of 12 games in the 7DAYS EuroCup, split between the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, averaging 5.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Reyer brings back Davide Casarin
Casarin joined Reyer at four years old, and he went on to play for the Italian side's mini-basket and youth teams before eventually reaching the first squad. He made his first-team debut at 15, and he appeared in the EuroCup for the first time as a 16-year-old. He played for Verona in the last two seasons, and has been a member of the Italian national team.
"Going back to Reyer means going home for me and for this, I am honored and proud," Casarin said. "I have been wearing these colors since I was four years old and I think I have spent more time at Taliercio than at home. It's a unique emotion to return after two years and I am grateful to the club and coach Spahija for the trust, I will try to be ready to be an important part of this new project."
