Umana Reyer Venice has announced the signing of Rodney McGruder. The club has not stated the length of the contract.
McGruder (1.93 meters, 33 years old) spent the second half of last season playing for EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, averaging 7.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game across seven appearances.
Before landing at Milan in January 2024, McGruder had spent nine years alternating between the NBA and the G League.
Curiously, his first year as a professional came at Hungarian team Atomeromu SE in 2013-14, then he went on to play for the Maine Red Claws (2014-15) and Sioux Falls Skyforce (2015-16; 2018) in the G League, as well as the Miami Heat (2016-19), Los Angeles Clippers (2019-20) and Detroit Pistons (2020-23) in the NBA.
