Kaba: double-double machine

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica big man Alpha Kaba had yet another solid performance in his team's 78-87 road victory over London Lions. Kaba finished the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double. It is the second time that Kaba has posted back-to-back double-doubles. He previously did so with Nanterre 92 during the 2020-21 Top 16. It was Kaba's eighth double-double, which ranks him second among active players in the competition, only trailing Alen Omic (15). Mario Austin is the EuroCup's all-time double-double leader with 16.

Rookie Conditt stepped up big

George Conditt is a EuroCup rookie. He got off to a relatively quiet start for Promitheas Patras with 6.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 0.3 blocks and a PIR of 10.3 in 3 games. It looks like his adjustment period is over as Conditt had a monster performance in Promitheas's 81-77 victory over Veolia Hamburg Towers. He finished the game with 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and a PIR of 30, all new career-highs. Conditt is a highly-effective big man ready to power the glass: he's averaged 2.8 offensive boards in 20 minutes per night.

Childs has a monster game on the glass

Veolia Hamburg Towers might have lost a close one in Patras, but center Yoeli Childs had a monster game with 17 points and a club-record 16 rebounds, including 7 on the offensive end, which is tied for a Hamburg single-game record. It also helped the team to pull down 49 rebounds, Hamburg's most in a single EuroCup game, however, it was just not enough to pull out this road win.

Yilmaz hardly missed

Turk Telekom Ankara swingman Erkan Yilmaz has been highly effective in the last three rounds, after going 0-of-6 from downtown in his team's season opener. Since then, Yilmaz has shot the ball close to perfection. In the last three games, in which Turk Telekom has gone 3-0, Yilmaz has made 8 of 9 two-pointers (88.9% 2FG) and 4 of 4 three-pointers (100%) for an average PIR of 15.0. In Round 4 against Slask Wroclaw, Yilmaz only needed 16 minutes to score 8 points on 4-of-5 two-point shooting plus 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal for a PIR of 14. He is a key piece on a surging team.

Slaughter's three-point barrage

AJ Slaughter kept making shots in the second half of Gran Canaria's 81-89 road win over Paris Basketball. After scoring just 5 points in the first half, Slaughter netted 19 points in the third and fourth quarters combined. He finished the game shooting 6-of-11 on three-pointers for 24 points. The veteran guard is now the league-leader with 4.0 triples made per game and he is shooting 51.6% from three-point land for the season.

Allman dominated in a loss

Kyle Allman had an outstanding individual performance, despite his Paris Basketball falling at home to Gran Canaria. Allman finished with 30 points, as he shot 6-of-9 from two-point range, made 4-of-8 three-pointers and went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. He also dished 8 assists, grabbed 5 rebounds, had 3 steals, blocked 2 shots and drew 9 fouls. His performance index rating of 42 was the highest any player has accumulated in a game so far this season.

Tokoto's turnaround

Hapoel Tel Aviv forward JP Tokoto started in each of the first three games this season and while playing a total of almost 46 minutes he managed just 6 points, making only 1-of-7 two-pointers. He did contribute in other departments, however, averaging 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Then in Round 4, Tokoto came off the bench and scored 18 points on 7-of-8 two-point shooting. He did not have an assist, but did pull down 6 rebounds and collected 3 steals, helping Hapoel to a 30-point win over Dolomiti Energia Trento.

All-time Omic

This roll call list for Round 4 cannot be completed without Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana center Alen Omic. He became the all-time leader in total rebounds and defensive rebounds, and the first player ever to reach 500 defensive rebounds on Wednesday, and he did it in spectacular fashion during his team's loss against Umana Reyer Venice. Omic finished with 21 rebounds, including 15 on the defensive end. Those are not only career-high marks for the EuroCup's new rebounding king, but his 21 boards were also the second-most ever in a EuroCup game, topped only by Lazaros Papadopoulos’s 22 from 2004.
