Trefl Sopot signs combo-guard Terrell Harris
Polish League champion Trefl Sopot continued its midseason roster makeover by signing combo-guard Terrell Harris for the remainder of the season. The move comes the day after the club announced a deal with Darious Moten and parted ways with Andy Van Vliet. Harris (1.91 meters, 31 years old) played for Gruppo Mascio Treviglio last season in the Italian second division, where he averaged 14.1 points, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
After playing college basketball at Georgia College & State University, Harris has spent most of his professional career in Germany, beginning with Iserlohn Kangaroos and followed by spells with Rostock Seawolves, Niners Chemnitz, and Crailsheim Merlins. He has also played in Denmark Svendborg and in Turkiye for Buyukcekmece. Harris, who will play with uniform no. 2, is expected to land in Poland on Wednesday.
"Terrell will help our perimeter players, strengthen the competition and give them the opportunity to play with greater intensity," club president Marek Wierzbicki said of the signing. "We are counting primarily on his ability to score points and play well on defense, but he is also a player who makes good decisions on the court and is able to create situations for others. He is an experienced player who finds his place on the court in decisive moments of the game."
