Buducnost VOLI Podgorica has secured the signing of Yoan Makoundou on a season-long loan from AS Monaco. Makoundou (2.07 meters, 23 years old) showed glimpses of his talent for Monaco last season, averaging 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in eight appearances from the bench in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. He now has the chance to continue his development in the BKT EuroCup at Buducnost.
Makoundou only joined Monaco last summer, having spent the first three years of his career with Cholet Basket. After being named as the Basketball Champions League's Best Young Player in the 2020-21 campaign, the forward was part of Monaco's double-winning team last season, with the side lifting both the French League and French Cup titles.
