ALBA grabs All-EuroCup center Trevion Williams
ALBA Berlin locked up one of the best young centers in Europe by signing Trevion Williams to a two-year deal, the club announced on Thursday. Williams (2.06 meters, 23 years old) averaged 14.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals over 18 BKT EuroCup games last season in leading ratiopharm Ulm to the playoffs.
"I particularly like ALBA's style of play as a team", Williams said for club's website. "Even as an opponent, it wasn't hard for me to see that the guys want to play for each other and win. Luke Sikma and ALBA's way of using him on the field inspired my decision-making."
He led the competition in rebounds and his 12 double-doubles were tied for the most by any player in a single EuroCup season. Williams ranked second in the competition in average PIR with 22.1 and led all centers in assists.
In the German League, Williams was worth 14.1 points, 8.5 boards, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game for a PIR of 19.4. He was the regular-season leader in rebounds and ranked second in PIR.
Williams starred at Purdue University and helped the USA national team to the gold medal at the 2019 U19 World Cup. He made his professional debut in the 2022-23 season with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League and also played for Capital City before coming to Europe.
