The big man is the third Barcelona player to suffer a season-ending injury
Barcelona loses Chimezie Metu to Achilles tendon rupture

FC Barcelona was dealt another major injury blow on Tuesday night with Chimezie Metu rupturing his right Achilles tendon. With 3:12 left in the third quarter against FC Bayern Munich, Metu suffered a non-contact injury while inbounding the ball.
“Upcoming treatment will be decided in the coming days”, Barcelona wrote in a brief statement on Tuesday night.
Metu is the third Barcelona player that is out for the season after ACL injuries to playmakers Nico Laprovittola and Juan Nunez. Also, center Jan Vesely has been sidelined since Round 23.
Metu, in his first EuroLeague season, has been Barcelona’s third-best scorer (11.0 PPG) and the top rebounder (4.8 RPG) while playing 20 minutes in a role off the bench.
After a dramatic 101-102 loss against Bayern, Barcelona dropped to a 17-14 record with three regular-season games to go.
