The Baskonia big man is out indefinitely with an ankle sprain suffered in Spanish League action over the weekend.
Baskonia loses Costello to ankle injury
Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz suffered an injury blow ahead of December's first double-round week, learning that the big man Matthew Costell will be sidelined with an ankle injury. Costello suffered an ankle sprain late in a domestic league game on Sunday, and is set to miss at least this week's two home games.
Baskonia first faces Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, at home on Wednesday, followed by the arrival of Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade on Friday night. The team will be missing Costello, who is averaging 7.9 points and 4.0 rebounds playing 22 minutes per game and has started in nine of his 11 appearances this season.
Costello, who is in his third season with the team, has not missed a game since the regular-season finale in the 2021-22 campaign, but he is now out indefinitely until he recovers from an ankle sprain.
