Bayern brings Oscar da Silva home to Munich
FC Bayern Munich announced on Thursday signing of power forward Oscar da Silva to a three-year contract, bringing him back to his hometown. da Silva (2.05 meters, 25 years old) arrives from FC Barcelona, where he spent the last two years.
Last season, da Silva appeared in 37 EuroLeague games for Barcelona, averaging 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds. It was his third season in the competition, having made his debut with ALBA Berlin in the 2021-22 campaign.
He started his professional basketball career with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. A year later with ALBA, da Silva helped the team win the German League and Cup double and he helped Barcelona with the Spanish League championship in 2023 and reach the EuroLeague Final Four that same year.
Before that, he played college basketball at Stanford University, where he was a two-time All-PAC-10 First team selection. da Silva played youth basketball for MTSV Friendsfactory Schwabing, DJK Sportbind Munich and Basketball Akademie Munich, and now will have a chance to play in the EuroLeague for his hometown club.
