AX Armani Exchange Milan has announced that former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion Luigi Datome has extended his contract for one more year, which means he will remain part of the team until the end of the 2022-23 season. A sweet-shooting small forward, Datome (2.03 meters, 34 years old) averaged 7.0 points in 26 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, in which he helped Milan win the Italian League and Italian Cup. It was his second campaign with Milan. In the first, Datome helped Milan win the Italian Cup title and make it to the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time since 1992.
Datome, Milan agree one-year contract extension

Datome joined Milan from Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, where he played for five seasons. He helped Fenerbahce with the EuroLeague title in 2017, the second of three consecutive championship games the team reached. Datome was named to the 2015-16 All-EuroLeague Second Team and helped Fenerbahce win three Turkish League championships and three Turkish Cups in those five campaigns with the club. He began his career with Olbia Basket and joined another Italian team, Montepaschi Siena, as a teenager. He has also played for Virtus Roma in Italy, as well as for Boston and Detroit in the NBA and the Grand Rapids in the G-League.
In 267 EuroLeague career games with Siena, Rome, Fenerbahce and Milan, Datome has amassed 2,256 points (8.4 ppg.) and 864 rebounds (3.2 rpg.). He ranks 23rd all time in three-point shooting percentage (43.9%), hitting 352 of 802 shots from downtown. No other player in EuroLeague history has a higher percentage with 600 attempts or more.<br> <br> Datome lifted the Italian League trophy with Siena in 2004, was chosen as the 2012-13 Italian League MVP with Roma, and was selected as the 2016 Turkish League Finals MVP with Fenerbahce. He has also been a member of the Italian national team. Datome led Italy to bronze medals at the 2005 European U18 Championship and the 2007 U20 European Championship.
