Dubai adds All-EuroCup center Mfiondu Kabengele

Dubai Basketball added size and power to its frontcourt by inking center Mfiondu Kabengele to a two-year deal, the club announced Saturday. Kabengele (2.07 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Umana Reyer Venice and had a stunning EuroCup season, becoming the competition's best rebounder with 9.7 boards per night.
He also averaged 15.4 points on 66.7% two-pointers and 38.1% three-pointers, 0.6 blocks and a PIR of 23.2, second overall only behind 2024-25 EuroCup MVP Jared Harper of Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (27.2 PIR). Kabengele earned 2024-25 All-EuroCup First Team honors and led the season in double-doubles with nine.
Born in Burlington, Canada, Kabengele moved to the United States to play college basketball for the Florida State Seminoles.
He started his professional basketball career with the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA and also played for the San Diego Clippers, Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Maine Celtics of the G League, as well as for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics of the NBA before joining AEK Athens in 2023.
Kabengele helped Rio Grande win the G League title in 2022 and has been a member of the Canadian national team.
