Anadolu Efes Istanbul added depth to its backcourt with the signing of guard Sehmus Hazer, the club announced Saturday. Hazer (1.93 meters, 25 years old) spent last season with Bahcesehir College Istanbul, which he helped reach BKT EuroCup semis, averaging 9.6 points, 3.0 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
He also posted 10.7 points, 2.6 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals in the Turkish League action, where Bahcesehir also reached semifinals.
Prior to his last season with Bahcesehir, Hazer spent three years with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul. He made 48 appearances in the EuroLeague over that period, all but five off the bench, posting 3.4 points.
The Turkish guard started his career with Bandirma, where he played between 2017 and 2020, before heading to Besiktas Istanbul for the 2020-21 campaign. Then, having starred in the Turkish League with Besiktas, he went on to join Fenerbahce in the summer of 2021.
Hazer has also been a member of the Turkish national team.
