Forward Will Clyburn injured his left leg last week against Crvena Zvezda and will be sidelined for up to six weeks. Rodrigue Beaubois is expected to miss three.
Efes loses Clyburn, Beaubois to injury
Anadolu Efes Istanbul is expected to be without Will Clyburn and Rodrigue Beaubois for several games, Coach Erdem Can confirmed on Monday. Clyburn suffered a leg injury in Friday's Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet and will miss up to six week. Beaubois played more than 30 minutes in the Turkish League on Sunday and is now facing a back problem.
They join a long list of injured Efes players, which includes Elijah Bryant, Tibor Pleiss, Derek Willis and Ante Zizic. In 11 EuroLeague appearances this season, Clyburn has averaged 11.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists for a PIR of 13.4. Beaubois has posted 10.9 points on 40% three-point shooting, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists for a PIR of 9.5.
Clyburn, 33, is in his second season with Efes and his eighth in the EuroLeague. Among his highlights are winning the EuroLeague in 2019 with CSKA Moscow as the Final Four MVP. He is a two-time All-EuroLeague selection. Clyburn made his EuroLeague debut with Darussafaka Istanbul in 2016 and has also played for ratiopharm Ulm in Germany and Hapoel Holon in Israel.
Beaubois, 35, is in his sixth season with Efes and helped the club to back-to-back EuroLeague championships in 2021 and 2022. He previously played one EuroLeague campaign with SIG Strasbourg and two with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Beaubois spent four seasons in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks, with which he won the NBA championship n 2011.
