We have yet another intense week in the EuroLeague, which includes unlimited trades in the Fantasy Challenge.
Rounds 20-21: Fantasy fun in another double-round week
For the first time in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague history, here comes a second consecutive double-round week. It is unprecedented, having back-to-back double-round weeks, which opens a lot of opportunities in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge.
This week, I am recommending a little bit of everything, from well-rounded veterans that had a strong start of 2024 to underpriced players who could be useful in another round with unlimited trades. Here are my recommendations for Rounds 20 and 21.
Dzanan Musa, Real Madrid (14.1 credits)
Musa is coming off a historic performance against Anadolu Efes Istanbul, scoring a club-record 40 points and recording a career-high PIR of 45. He followed that with a solid performance in the Spanish League, amassing 20 points and a PIR of 25 against Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Musa is young, talented and, since 2024 started, completely unstoppable.
Tibor Pleiss, Anadolu Efes Istanbul (6.7 credits)
Pleiss made his return from injury in Round 18 and has made a big impact for Efes since getting back on the court. He had an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double and a PIR of 12 on his return against Valencia, before recording another double-double in Round 19 against Real Madrid with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tyrique Jones is injured, so Pleiss should see an increased role for head coach Erdem Can’s side.
Jan Vesely, FC Barcelona (15.2 credits)
It was quite the week for Vesely, who led Barca to back-to-back home wins against Real Madrid and Baskonia. He averaged 25.0 points on 20-of-29 two-pointers, 4.0 rebounds and a PIR of 28.0 during the double-round week last week. Barca plays two more home games this week, which are against Olympiacos Piraeus and Zalgiris Kaunas. Expect Vesely to keep leading his team in Rounds 20 and 21.
Paris Lee, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (12.2 credits)
ASVEL secured a home victory against Zalgiris last time out and plays twice at home this week, as Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade and ALBA Berlin come to town. This upcoming double-round week could be a great opportunity for Lee to keep impressing. In the last four games, Lee has averaged 18.3 points, 8.0 assists and a PIR of 21.5, during which time he has hit all 22 of his free-throw attempts.
Damien Inglis, Valencia Basket (9.6 credits)
Inglis, a two-time BKT EuroCup champion, joined Valencia last summer and was handed a leading role, but he’s taken his game to another level of late. In the last two games, Inglis has averaged 10.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and a PIR of 21.0. For less than 10 credits, Inglis is a solid choice due to his versatility, focus and character.
