Fantasy expert Javier Gancedo has offered his recommendations for this week
Fantasy tips, Round 12: Let's end November in style!
Round 12 marks the end of a busy November in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. A lot of players have been playing well lately and that is good news for EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge managers, who have created over 400,000 teams and counting.
This week, I am highlighting several budget options, as well as my superstar of choice. Here are my recommendations for Round 12.
Ziga Samar, ALBA Berlin (4.8 credits)
There were three ALBA players worth less than 5.0 credits who were great against Real Madrid: Jonas Mattisseck, Malte Delow and Ziga Samar. I believe Samar has the biggest upside due to his outstanding passing skills and tremendous self-confidence. ALBA plays at home in Turn 1, so Samar should be a great "what-if" option to start the round.
Roman Sorkin, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (8.2 credits)
Maccabi has not won a EuroLeague game in November but some of its players have stepped up big. Roman Sorkin has been one of them, averaging 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals for a PIR of 18.0 over his last three games. Maccabi needs his effectiveness and leadership in its game in Berlin. At 8.2 credits, he is a fantasy bargain.
TJ Shorts, Paris Basketball (16.4 credits)
It is going to be a tight race to be MVP of November and TJ Shorts is one of the main candidates. In the last four games, Shorts has averaged 19.8 points on 80.0% three-point shooting, 8.3 assists and 8.0 fouls drawn for a PIR of 25.3. Paris plays at home, looking for its eighth consecutive victory. All eyes will be on Shorts, who has been just unstoppable!
Jabari Parker, FC Barcelona (13.3 credits)
Barcelona lost Chimezie Metu to injury and had a rough game in Munich, suffering a 100-78 loss against Bayern. Jabari Parker, however, has been playing well, averaging 20.7 points on 14-of-17 two-point and 9-of-18 three-point shooting plus 5.0 rebounds for a PIR of 23.3. Up next, El Clásico at home. What's not to like?
Sertac Sanli, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (6.0 credits)
Looking for a backup center? Sertac Sanli should be your man due to his latest performances combined with his low price. Over the last three games, Sanli has seen more playing time and made the most of it, averaging 7.3 points and 3.3 rebounds for a PIR of 10.0, while missing just three shots. Sanli has excellent fantasy value right now.
