Here are Javier Gancedo's recommendations for this week's games in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge.
Fantasy tips, Round 33: Competitive until the end!
Round 33 should be a pivotal one in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, with more teams likely to seal their tickets to the playoffs or the Play-In Showdown. Having so many teams competing for such big goals is great news for all EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge managers, as most teams are expected to use their usual rotations. A lot of players have been hot lately and should keep their momentum going. Here are my recommendations for this penultimate round of the regular season:
Nemanja Nedovic, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade (12.5 credits)
Nedovic has been unstoppable lately while playing at both guard positions, showing his best basketball and being lethal on offense. Over the last three games, Nedovic has averaged 24.7 points on 18-of-25 two-point shooting and 10-of-18 on three-pointers, plus 6.3 assists and 4.0 fouls drawn for a PIR of 28.3. Nedovic is completely on 🔥fire🔥!
Mario Hezonja, Real Madrid (13.3 credits)
Hezonja sat out in Spanish League action this weekend and should be fresh to face Baskonia. He has played well lately, too. Hezonja has scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games (22.3 ppg.) while making 11 of 17 three-pointers. He has also averaged 6.3 rebounds and a PIR of 27.7. "Super Mario" is set to keep leading Real!
Kevarrius Hayes, Zalgiris Kaunas (7.8 credits)
A great option for a backup center, taking into account that Zalgiris plays on Thursday. Hayes has barely missed shots over the last three games, averaging 12.7 points on 16-of-20 two-point shooting plus 6.3 rebounds and amassing a PIR of 19.3. All for less than 8.0 credits! There are not many bargains in the game, so go for him!
Elijah Bryant, Anadolu Efes Istanbul (9.6 credits)
The Turkish derby is coming and all the attention will probably be on Shane Larkin and Will Clyburn. As always, Bryant has been extremely effective, posting great numbers without being much noticed. We see you, Elijah! At just 9.6 credits, he's averaged 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists for a PIR of 17.3 in the last three games.
Kostas Sloukas, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (14.4 credits)
One of the keys to doing well in fantasy is picking the right stars and right now, you cannot go wrong with Sloukas. Over the last three games, Sloukas has averaged 18.3 points on 11-of-13 two-point and 8-of-16 three-point shooting and 6.7 assists for a PIR of 24.7. He's had a PIR of 21 or better in five of his last six games. Team captain, anyone?
