Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul added a top Turkish talent for the long term as it signed Sehmus Hazer to a three-year contract, the club announced Sunday. Hazer (1.90 meter, 22 years old) comes to Fenerbahce after playing last season with Besiktas Istanbul, where he averaged 14.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 33 Turkish League games. Hazer grew up in the Bandirma system and played four seasons in the top division in Turkey before moving to Besiktas in 2020. He also has played a number of years for the Turkish national team, appearing in the FIBA U18 European Championship 2017 as well as the FIBA U20 European Championship in 2018 and 2019 before making his senior national team debut in the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Qualifiers. Hazer also played for Turkey in the FIBA 2020 Olympic Qualifying Tournamentin Victoria, Canada.
