Fenerbahce signs center Jilson Bango

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has signed Jilson Bango on a deal until the end of the 2026-27 season, the club announced on Monday.
Bango (2.08 meters, 26 years old) arrives from the Spanish League where the Angolan center made waves this season with Casademont Zaragoza, being named the ACB's MVP of the Month in December. Across 18 Spanish League appearances, Bango averaged 13.9 points and 5.6 rebounds. He also posted 14.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in nine FIBA Europe Cup fixtures.
This is Bango's third campaign in Europe, having played for Braunschweig in Germany between 2022 and 2024 prior to signing for Zaragoza, where he spent the first half of this season. Now, he will get the chance to feature in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague for the first time with Fenerbahce.
An international teammate of new Real Madrid signing Bruno Fernando, Bango's first years as a professional came in Angola as he suited up for Marinha de Guerra (2018-19) and Primeiro de Agosto (2019-22).
