Anadolu Efes Istanbul 69-81 AS Monaco
Monaco came back from a double-digit deficit to beat Efes 69-81 in Round 8 of the 2024-25 EuroLeague season on Thursday. The visitors improved to 5-3 in the standings while Efes dropped to 4-4. Georgios Papagiannis paced the winners with 15 points, Jordan Loyd had 14 and Mike James added 12. Vincent Poirier led Efes with 14 points, Ercan Osmani scored 11 and Rolands Smits got 10.
LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 73-77 Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul
Fenerbahce remained perfect on the road this season as it fought off a stern challenge from ASVEL to win 73-77 and pull into a tie for first place. The Turkish side grabbed its third straight win away from home to improve to a 6-2 record. ASVEL has now lost four consecutive games for a 2-6 record. Nigel Hayes-Davis scored 25 points with 7 rebounds, Marko Guduric had 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Bonzie Colson chipped in 10 points. The Fenerbahce win had a bitter aftertaste as star guard Wade Baldwin left the game just 3 minutes into the contest with a right hamstring strain and did not play the rest of the way. Nando De Colo looked like he turned back the clock as the 37-year scored 18 points and tied his career high with 11 assists. Shaq Harrison added 11 points in the loss.
Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens 89-94 Olympiacos Piraeus
Olympiacos led for all but 25 seconds of the first Greek derby of the season before going on to pull out an 89-94 road win over Panathinaikos. It's the third straight win for the Reds, while this outcome snaps the Greens' three game winning streak. Both powerhouses now hold a 5-3 record. Olympiacos led by as many as 13 points on a couple of occasions in the second quarter, but Panathinaikos was clicking on all cylinders offensively in the second half and finally took its first lead, 83-82, with 3:15 to go. But that turned out to be the hosts' only lead, as Even Fournier netted three big shots, a total of 8 points in a 2-10 run, to give Olympiacos the victory. Fournier finished with 22 points, while Sasha Vezenkov scored all 20 of his points in the first three quarters. Kendrick Nunn was the top scorer for Panathinaikos with 20 points, and Mathias Lessort and Juancho Hernangomez scored 13 apiece.
Virtus Segafredo Bologna 84-77 Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv
Virtus improved to a 2-6 record in the EuroLeague after a flowing team effort gave the Italian side an 84-77 win over Maccabi as five home players finished in double digits, led by Toko Shengelia who netted 16 points. Virtus center Ante Zizic claimed the player of the game award with easily his best performance of the season, racking up 14 points, 9 boards and 4 steals as he dominated the paint at both ends. Alessandro Pajola, who returned to action after missing three games through injury, added 10 points including a clutch triple which sealed his team’s win, while Will Clyburn and Isaia Cordinier chipped in with 11 points apiece. At the other end, Levi Randolph stood out with a game-high 21 points and Rokas Jokubaitis scored 10 for Maccabi, which dropped to 3-5 after being forced into submission down the stretch.
FC Barcelona 91-68 Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz
Barcelona remains undefeated at Palau Blaugrana in the 2024-25 EuroLeague season after topping Baskonia 91-68 in Round 8 on Friday night. Joan Penarroya's men improved to 6-2 in the standings while Pablo Laso's Baskonia dropped to 4-4. Jan Vesely led the winners with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Kevin Punter added 15 points while Justin Anderson had 11. Trent Forrest paced Baskonia with 17 points, Markus Howard added 11 while Chima Moneke had 10.

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade 92-71 ALBA Berlin
Zvezda returned to winning ways by downing ALBA in the Serbian capital in Round 8 on Thursday. Zvezda improved to 4-4 in the regular season standing, snapping a four-game losing streak, while ALBA dropped to 1-7 and remains at the bottom of the standings. Codi Miller-McIntyre paced the winners with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Filip Petrusev added 14 points. Gabriele Procida led ALBA with 25 points.
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 85-76 Real Madrid
Milan grabbed a second straight win by downing Real Madrid to leave the Spanish team winless on the road. Both teams now have 3-5 records. Milan took control with a 19-4 run to bridge the first and second quarters, and was up 47-40 at halftime. A 9-0 run to start the final quarter left Real reeling, and the hosts cruised home. Neno Dimitrijevic led the way with 22 points, while Zach LeDay provided 17 points plus 8 rebounds. Serge Ibaka and Mario Hezonja paced Real with 13 points.
Paris Basketball 74-71 Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade
Paris stretched its impressive start with a thrilling home victory over Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade for its fourth successive win. In contrast, Partizan dropped to 2-6 and is now on a four-game skid. Nadir Hifi shined for Paris with 17 points and 4 boards and TJ Shorts chipped in with 13 points and 8 assists. At the other end, playmaker Carlik Jones stood out for Partizan with 20 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds.
FC Bayern Munich 77-74 Zalgiris Kaunas
Bayern survived against previous league leader Zalgiris to grab a share of first place with its fifth straight victory. Bayern never trailed though it nearly wasted a 14-point fourth-quarter lead, which Zalgiris cut to 1 point in the closing moments. Bayern moved to 6-2 and 4-0 at home. Carsen Edwards led the way with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Zalgiris had won its last five games but dropped to 6-2. Sylvain Francisco poured in 16 of his 20 points in the final 8 minutes but they were not enough.
