Khem Birch agrees to extension with Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul announced on Sunday that it has extended the contract of center Khem Birch through the end of the 2025–26 season.
Birch (2.06 meters, 32 years old) joined the club last summer and played a key role in Fenerbahce's run to the EuroLeague crown. He appeared in 36 EuroLeague games and posted 3.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. Birch moved into the starting lineup lates in the season and played at least 20 minutes in both Final Four games. He also helped Fenerbahce win the Turkish League and Cup double.
Last season was Birch's second in the EuroLeague; he debuted with Olympiacos in 2016-17 and helped the Reds get to the championship game where they lost to Fenerbahce.
Birch played college basketball at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas before starting his professional career with Sioux Falls in the G League. His first stop in Europe was with Turkish side Usak Sportif in 2015, which led to his move to Olympiacos. Birch then spent six seasons in the NBA – split between the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors. He returned to Europe in 2023 with Girona in Spain and now has found a home with Fenerbahce.
