Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and team captain John DiBartolomeo have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him with the club through the end of the 2024-25 season, which will be his eighth with Maccabi. DiBartolomeo (1.83 meters, 32 years old) comes off his finest season with Maccabi, in which he averaged 6.2 points and 1.1 assists over 39 games in a reserve role. He made 41.7% of his three-pointers and led the league in free-throw accuracy this season at 98.2%.
DiBartolomeo first joined Maccabi in 2017 and was named team captain later that season. In his time with the club, DiBartolomeo has won four Israeli championships. He previously played two seasons with Maccabi Haifa, with which he won the Israeli Cup in 2017. That season DiBartolomeo was also named Israeli League MVP. He made his professional debut with Spanish side Palma Air Europe, where he played from 2013 to 2015.
