Maccabi pens 2-year deal with Jordan Loyd
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv has announced the signing of Jordan Loyd on a two-year deal.
Loyd (30 years old, 1.93 meters) arrives from AS Monaco, where he spent the last two seasons. The American guard averaged 10.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 20 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in helping Monaco reach the playoffs.
In his two seasons with Monaco, Loyd helped the club win a pair of French League crowns and make its first EuroLeague Final Four appearance.
Since making his EuroLeague debut with Valencia Basket in the 2019-20 season, Loyd has averaged double figures for points in each of his five campaigns in the EuroLeague, having averaged 11.1 points per game (ppg.) with Valencia, 17.3 ppg. with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade in 2020-21, 13.2 ppg. with Zenit St. Petersburg in 2021-22 and then 12.3 ppg. In his first season with Monaco.
Loyd, who won an NBA ring with the Toronto Raptors in the 2018-19 campaign, is one of the most winningest players in Europe, as he won the ABA League with Zvezda, the VTB United League trophy with Zenit and he was the MVP of the 2023 French League Finals.
This will be his second stint in Israel after playing for Hapoel Eliat in 2017-18.
