Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv strengthened its backcourt with the signing of Austin Hollins for the coming season. Hollins (1.93 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgarde where he averaged 8.1 points and 1.0 steals per game last season. He also contributed 9.1 points and 1.5 steals in the Adriatic League and he helped the team win the Adriatic and Serbian League championships and the Serbian Cup. Last season was Hollins’s third EuroLeague campaign after debuting with Zenit St Petersburg in 2019. He played two seasons for Zenit and helped the team make the 2021 EuroLeague Playoffs.

Hollins started his professional career in the French second division, with Denain Voltaire, between 2014 and 2016. He spent the following season with Kauhajoen Karhu of Finland before heading to Germany, where Hollins played for Geissen 46ers then with Rasta Vechta. Hollins is the son of former NBA head coach Lionel Hollins.
