Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced on Saturday afternoon that big man Roman Sorkin will be sidelined for the next month. Sorkin, 27, suffered a knee injury while playing for the Israeli national team against Portugal on Thursday night in a EuroBasket 2025 qualifying game. After returning home, he underwent an MRI which revealed a strained ligament. The expected recovery is four weeks.
Sorkin is in his third season with Maccabi and his third in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. He had played in all 26 games to date and averaged a career-high 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 17:25 minutes.
