Two of the top five scorers in the EuroLeague over the past five seasons will clash on Thursday when Scottie Wilbekin of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Alexey Shved of CSKA Moscow meet.
Major matchup: Wilbekin, Maccabi vs. Shved, CSKA
The always-dangerous Wilbekin has taken his game up a notch recently; he has averaged 20.4 points on 17-for-34 three-point shooting plus 4.2 assists over his last five games. For the season, Wilbekin has been worth 15.6 points on 38.3% three-point shooting and 4.3 assists. When Wilbekin has it going, he can almost win a game by himself and he certainly makes it tougher on the opposition and easier for his teammates. CSKA will have a plan to stop him, but if Wilbekin can heat up, he cannot be stopped.

Shved has not been consistent this season, his first back with CSKA, as he adapts to a different. He has averaged 11.3 points and 3.8 assists per game. Nevertheless, he has starred in CSKA’s last two wins; Shved scored 27 points in a Round 23 road win at UNICS Kazan and tallied a double-double of 10 points and 13 assists in Round 25 against ALBA Berlin. A big game from Shved in Tel Aviv could shift the outcome of this game.
