EA7 Emporio Armani Milan has added Deshaun Thomas to its roster on a one-year deal, the club confirmed on Friday. Thomas (2.01 meters, 30 years old) joins from FC Bayern Munich, where he averaged 9.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 36 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague matches last season. Milan becomes the seventh team that Thomas has represented in the EuroLeague.
Milan inks forward Thomas
Thomas made his EuroLeague debut back in the 2013-14 season, the same year he began his professional career, as he played for Nanterre of France. His performances off the bench caught the eye of FC Barcelona, which signed him for the following season. Thomas then spent the 2015-16 campaign with Austin of the G League before returning to play in the EuroLeague, as he suited up for Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos over the next four years. He opted to join Alvark Tokyo of Japan in 2020, but 12 months later he signed a deal with Bayern.
Across his 197 games in the EuroLeague, of which 88 have been as a starter, Thomas has posted averages of 9.9 points and 3.1 rebounds. Now, Thomas will play in Italy for the first time in his career, as he hopes to help Milan achieve its goal of winning the EuroLeague title for the first time since 1988.
