AS Monaco added size and experience to its froncourt by inking big man Jerry Boutsiele for the upcoming season, the club announced Tuesday.
Monaco bolsters frontcourt with Boutsiele
Boutsiele (2.04 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Limoges CSP, where he averaged 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds in 27 French League games last season. He started his career with Nanterre 92's junior teams, and also played for several other French teams such as Souffelweyersheim, SPO Rouen Basket, Denain ASC Voltaire and Cholet Basket before joining Limoges in 2018. Boutsiele has also been a member of the French national team.
In 26 7DAYS EuroCup career games with Limoges, he has averaged 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds. Boutsiele is set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Monaco in the upcoming 2021-22 campaign. "I have always wanted to compete in the EuroLeague. I sign for a team like Monaco which earned its entry into the most prestigious competition," Boutsiele said. "I think I'm ready to help my new team and, at the same time, I know I still have a lot of room for improvement. I hope I can become a long-term EuroLeague player, and will do everything to get there."
