On Thursday morning, 7DAYS EuroCup champ AS Monaco announced that young guard Rudy Demahis has signed a one-year contract extension, as the club gets ready for its Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut.
Monaco secures young talent Demahis
Demahis (1.87 meters, 19 years old) played 16 EuroCup games last season with Monaco, his first as a professional, and averaged 1.3 points on 40% three-point shooting and 1.1 assists in less than 10 minutes on court with a lot of his contributions coming on the defensive end. At such a young age, he even started in five games, with four of those starts coming in the EuroCup semifinals and EuroCup finals series.
Demahis is a product of the French national basketball academy – Centre Federal du Basketball – and averaged 11.7 points, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals in the third of three seasons there before joining Monaco. He competed in U18 CFBB Paris uniform in the ANGT three seasons. Last week, Demahis won a silver medal playing for France at the U19 World Championships, playing a big part in team success and averaging 11.5 points in the semifinal and the final. Now, he is set to also make his EuroLeague debut.
