EuroLeague fans, we have our seventh winner in this season's [EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge](https://euroleaguefantasy.euroleaguebasketball.net/)! Orestis Kokolis beat everyone else in Round 7 with his team OrestisK, which had a Fantasy Challenge score of 254.80.

Orestis had the following lineup: Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade's Chima Moneke as team captain, then Zalgiris Kaunas duo Sylvain Francisco and Moses Wright, Dubai Basketball's Filip Petrusev and Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv's Dan Oturu as his starters. Anadolu Efes Istanbul's Rolands Smits was his sixth man. Orestis's bench players were Paris Basketball's Sebastian Herrera, Real Madrid's Alberto Abalde, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne's Adam Atamna, and FC Barcelona's Kevin Punter. Crvena Zvezda play-caller Sasa Obradovic was Orestis's head coach.

The prize for finishing first in Round 7 is a VIP EuroLeague TV Subscription for the 2026-27 Season, and an automatic entry to a lottery to win two tickets to the 2027 Final Four.

The first game of Round 8, Zalgiris Kaunas vs. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, is scheduled to tip off on Thursday, October 30 at 19:00 CET. This marks the next round's deadline.

AS Monaco made a statement by going on the road and edging Olympiacos Piraeus 87-92 in a hard-fought affair in Round 7 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season, with Mike James and Alpha Diallo playing key roles in the win.

It might still be too early in the season, but it feels as though [AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/as-monaco/mco/) made a statement on Wednesday night.

Of course, it can be argued that being the reigning EuroLeague runner-up does free a team from needing to make statements in the first place, but Monaco made one nevertheless, going on the road and edging [Olympiacos Piraeus](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/olympiacos-piraeus/oly/) 87-92 in a hard-fought affair.

“I think we played a really good game,” Monaco star guard and the EuroLeague’s all-time leading scorer [Mike James](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/mike-james/005985/) said with a smile in a EuroLeague TV interview after the win.

James orchestrated things on the floor at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, playing 32 minutes and posting a double-double of 23 points and 10 assists. He shot 3 of 6 from long range, made 5 of 7 twos, and also had 4 rebounds.

It was his best performance of this young campaign, and he now sits in second place in the league in assists this season with 6.6 per game.

His performance, and the game’s outcome, came as a bit of *déjà vu*.

Olympiacos Piraeus-AS Monaco | Round 7 Highlights | 2025-26 EuroLeague

This was a rematch of last season’s Final Four semifinals, in which James starred in Monaco’s win over the Reds in Abu Dhabi. But just like in that historic semifinal win, in this Round 7 affair in Piraeus, James had a sidekick – and just like in Abu Dhabi, there was that same other protagonist, [Alpha Diallo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/alpha-diallo/011226/), who pushed and pulled Monaco to victory once again.

Diallo played 35 minutes and 17 seconds in this Round 7 clash, scoring a career-high 27 points. He made 8 of 9 twos and 3 of 4 threes, and chipped in 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals to his all-round effort.

Both players earned great praise from their head coach, Vassilis Spanoulis.

“\[Mike James\] had 10 assists, but could have had more, we missed some open threes,” Spanoulis said. “Everybody knows he can score. He was very concentrated, he always made the right play.

“Alpha played incredible,” Spanoulis continued. “You cannot judge Alpha from the points he scored. He plays incredible defense and in all the aspects of the game, that you cannot see on the stat sheet.”

Diallo, playing in his fifth EuroLeague season, all with Monaco, is an all-out effort player who reads the game so well on both ends of the floor that he simply makes the team better.

In addition to his defensive prowess, after this 27-point performance, Diallo is now also averaging 14.3 points on 43.5% three-point shooting, turning himself in a nightmare for opposing defenses, too.

“I just go out there and hoop every night, just to be an every-day guy,” Diallo tried to explain his approach on EuroLeague TV. “I try to come in, do the little stuff and just whatever it takes to win. I am happy I keep improving, it shows the work I’ve put in, and it is showing off.”

The win improved Monaco's record to 4-3, working like a charm after the team lost in its two previous road games, in Bologna against Virtus and in Sofia against Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv.

The next stop in just 48 hours is a home tilt against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens.

Coach Dimitris Itoudis celebrated a sweet win over his former mentor and close friend Zeljko Obradovic, with the two forming an unbreakable bond during a glorious 1999-2012 spell at Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens where they won five EuroLeague titles together.

Boasting a deep roster at Hapoel, Itoudis emerged as a worthy winner in Sofia. The noisy Partizan fans made the Serbian outfit feel at home, although it’s currently Hapoel’s turf until the club’s long-awaited return to its Tel Aviv base in December.

No less than seven Hapoel players scored in double figures and the outcome epitomized the team’s unselfish approach as [Collin Malcolm](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/collin-malcolm/012609/) led the way on 17 points and 7-of-8 shooting from the floor, with the hosts sinking 12 of 26 three-pointers in a high-octane clash.

Having praised his teammates, Malcolm also struck a note of caution that Hapoel should take nothing for granted so early in the season, despite making the headlines time and again since the club hit uncharted territory by joining Europe’s premier club competition this term.

“We did a really good job handling their physicality and pressure in the second half and once we started finding the right guys, we started to score,” Malcolm said in his post-game comments. “It’s good to see that we’re progressing but nobody won the league after seven rounds so we’ve still got a long way to go. This team is capable of a lot of good things so we’re now focused on Round 8 and the matchup with Olympiacos.”

Big man [Dan Oturu](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/dan-oturu/012788/) racked up 14 points and 6 boards, [Antonio Blakeney](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/antonio-blakeney/013402/) added 13 points while [Chris Jones](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/chris-jones/010568/) chipped in with 12. The visiting team’s new signing [Bruno Fernando](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/bruno-fernando/013667/) made a limited impact in the paint as the big man from Angola finished on 6 points and 3 boards, with [Sterling Brown](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/sterling-brown/012720/) pacing Partizan on 19 points and [Duane Washington](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/duane-washington/013370/) adding 15. They were the only two visiting players in double figures, however, with the long-term absence of livewire playmaker [Carlik Jones](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/carlik-jones/013369/) beginning to bite hard as Partizan slipped to 3-4 after a second successive crushing defeat following the previous round’s 83-101 home drubbing by Paris Basketball.

Having singled out Malcolm, Coach Itoudis underlined that Hapoel’s deep roster gave him plenty of options at both ends of the court. “We’re a new team and still getting to know each other but we had a good second half, scoring 54 points and shooting 7 of 14 from three-point range,” the Greek tactician said.

“Congrats to the players, we managed to win even though we didn’t have a great game. A deep roster helps in having different protagonists every game. The bench contributes too while Malcolm is effective all over, on offense and defense.”

Obradovic, who faces an uphill battle to get his shorthanded team back on track with guard [Shake Milton](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/shake-milton/014007/) also sidelined by injury, could only acknowledge that is men fell woefully short in a lop-sided second half.  “It was a game of two different halves,” said the winner of a record nine EuroLeague titles with five different clubs. “The first half was close but in the second we made all sorts of mistakes as our defense was terrible and Hapoel fully deserved their win.”

Mitoglou (2.10 meters, 29 years old), a veteran of seven EuroLeague seasons, has played all but one of them with the Greens, which he helped to the EuroLeague crown in 2024. He has posted 5.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in seven EuroLeague so far this season and has averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 177 career EuroLeague games with Panathinaikos.

A native of Thessaloniki, Mitoglou played for Asteria and Aris in his hometown before heading to the United States to play college basketball at Wake Forest University. He returned to Greece in 2017 when he signed with Panathinaikos and has been there ever since, spare the 2021-22 campaign with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.

Mitoglou has won four Greek championships and two Greek Cups with Panathinaikos and the 2021 Italian League with Milan. He has also represented Greece at both the Olympic Games and the FIBA World Cup.

Partizan Belgrade announced that it has signed Nick Calathes, the EuroLeague career leader in steals and assists, for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Now, the star point guard is reuniting with the coaching master to bring his experience and leadership to a [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade/par/) team that aims to reach the top.

Partizan announced that it has signed Calathes (1.96 meters, 36 years old) for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The playmaker arrives from [AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/as-monaco/mco/), where he had made three appearances in the French League this season, but had yet to appear for the club in the EuroLeague. Last season, he averaged 3.7 points and 3.8 assists in 17 EuroLeague games with Monaco.

Partizan will be the fifth EuroLeague club for Calathes, who after debuting with Panathinaikos Athens also played for FC Barcelona and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul before signing with Monaco. Known for his elite court vision, defensive instincts, and leadership, Calathes brings over a decade of EuroLeague experience to Partizan. In that time, he has built a historic resume.

Calathes is the EuroLeague all-time leader in assists (2,135) and steals (460). He is second in competition history with 318 games started ninth in PIR (4,298) and ninth in games played (371). With 1010 two-point baskets, Calathes is also one away from the top 10 in that category, too. He is one of two players - [Mike James](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/mike-james/005985/) being the other - with over 1,000 career points, rebounds and assists.

A EuroLeague champion in his second pro season with Panathinaikos in 2011, Calathes has gone to the Final Four with every team he has played for and reached the championship game with Panathinaikos, Barcelona and Monaco.

He is a two-time All-EuroLeague First Team selection and was named the 20212-13 EuroCup MVP after leading Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar to the championship in that competition. Calathes has also won seven national championships and six national cups in his career.

Born in Florida and a naturalized Greek international, Calathes has represented Greece in multiple international tournaments, including the Olympic Games and the Basketball World Cup. He helped Greece to the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2009.

Calathes's arrival comes amid a string of injuries to key rotation players, including Carlik Jones and Shake Milton. Partizan currently holds a 3–3 record in the EuroLeague.

Two straight EuroLeague defeats were followed by a loss at rival ALBA Berlin in the German League last weekend, with Bayern struggling to build momentum in the opening stages of the 2025-26 campaign.

Then came that spark in the form of a relentless [Isiaha Mike](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/isiaha-mike/011836/). 

The Bayern forward produced a historic outing against *Los Blancos*, inspiring the hosts to a 90-84 victory at SAP Garden.

The German side hit the ground running with a 13-2 run, but Real Madrid fought back and secured a 44-57 lead at halftime. Ghosts from last week’s thrashing at the hands of Olympiacos Piraeus were coming back to haunt Bayern, but this time Mike was having none of it.

Having already scored 15 in the first half to keep his team in the game, the 28-year-old netted 5 straight points to open the third quarter, kickstarting Bayern’s comeback. Mike went on to add 7 more points to his tally, with the hosts taking a 69-67 edge heading into the closing quarter. Real Madrid pushed for a late comeback, but Bayern never looked back.

“We were struggling, man,” Mike told EuroLeague TV after the game. “We were struggling lately and finally we had a third quarter where we responded after going down big. It felt good to finally get some energy, being down in the hole like that. We were giving up a lot of easy baskets inside \[in the first half\]. So we just became more physical \[in the second\], stepped over a bit more in the help side. Tried to take away their size advantage and get on to transition. And it worked for us.”

After holding the guests to just 10 points in the third quarter, Bayern outscored them 21-17 in the fourth to clinch the comeback victory. Mike provided the spark, with [Xavier Rathan-Mayes](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/xavier-rathan-mayes/013378/), [Kamar Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kamar-baldwin/012597/) and [Oscar da Silva](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/oscar-da-silva/011244/) chipping in to down Real Madrid.

“We did a really good job tonight of being resilient, fighting adversity,” Rathan-Mayes said after the game against his former team. “Obviously, the start of the season wasn’t what we wanted it to be. We’ve continued to stick together with this group of guys, this group of brothers has been really good in sticking together and making sure that the energy is positive. We are on the same page together.”

Rathan-Mayes nailed a triple and a layup before drawing an offensive foul at the other end and producing back-to-back assists to open the fourth quarter in style. Baldwin stepped up to make it 77-72 and Da Silva came to the fore to open a double-digit lead (82-72), as Real Madrid struggled to find answers against Bayern’s small-ball.

“We talked about it this morning,” head coach Gordon Herbert told the post-game press conference. “We were down. We were going through some adversity, some failures.”

Mike recorded career highs in points (29), rebounds (7), two-pointers made (6) and free throws made (8). Having lit the fuse for the team’s fightback against Real Madrid, the Bayern forward will look to bring that same energy into Thursday’s home clash against Virtus Bologna. 

The match has been set alight and as Herbert stressed after Tuesday’s duel “sometimes you’ve got to go through \[adversity\] to get where you want to get to.”

Baskonias suffering is finally over thanks to Luwawu-Cabarrot’s strong second half

[Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/timothe-luwawu-cabarrot/012080/) did his best Superman impression in the second half of [Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/baskonia-vitoria-gasteiz/bas/)’s home game against [Dubai Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/dubai-basketball/dub/) and showed why he is one of the top players in the EuroLeague this season.

The Frenchman poured in 22 of his 25 points after halftime, including knocking down 5 of his 6 three-pointers in a 92-85 home victory - Baskonia’s first of the season.

“Everybody chipped in today. It was an amazing win. Amazing team chemistry. We showed a lot of resilience. Going 0-6 is tough mentally. We showed today that we can do good things in our home. I am very proud of this team, very proud of us,” said Luwawu-Cabarrot, who struggled over the first 20 minutes.

Baskonia built up a 9-point lead in the first quarter and the gap was 10 points early in the second quarter. But Paolo Galbiati’s team trailed 41-42 at the break.

Baskonia was down 44-49 early in the second quarter when Luwawu-Cabarrot drained 4 three-pointers in helping the team surge ahead 64-58. Luwawu-Cabarrot added a driving layup and three-pointer in pushing the cushion to 81-68.

It was actually a 15-point lead (86-71) with only 2:38 minutes left when Dubai put a real scare into the hosts. Filip Petrusev, who finished with 22 points, sparked a rally to trim the gap within 88-85 inside the final minute.

Luwawu-Cabarrot ended any doubts, though, with 2 free throws with 30 seconds remaining to ice the game.

“This one was very important for us, for our confidence. We are very happy. Also happy that this is a double week so that we can use this win to keep going and keep building for the season,” said the 30-year-old French forward.

Hamidou Diallo continued his strong first season in Europe with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

“It was a must-win, do whatever it takes, grind it out. And that’s what we did tonight. We get to celebrate this one,” the American forward said. “This is the kind of team we are. You don’t know whose night it is going to be. That’s why we have to prepare the little things every day and keep trying to stack good days on top of this one.”

The victory was not only Baskonia’s first of the season but it was also the first EuroLeague win as head coach for Galbiati, who made the jump after coaching the last two seasons with BKT EuroCup side Dolomiti Energia Trento. But he talked about his players.

“I am happy for the players. They suffered a lot. I saw their frustration over the weeks. And I am very happy for them,” said the 41-year-old Italian.

Led by Luwawu-Cabarrot and his hitting 6 of 11 three-pointers, Baskonia shot 40 percent from long range - much better than its average of 31.8%, which ranked 17th in the league.

At the other end of the ball, Baskonia came into the game dead last in defensive scoring and opponent’s PIR - with the 85 points and 86 index rating well below the team’s season averages of 96.0 and 108.2, respectively.

Baskonia started the season with three losses by 7 points or fewer and then dropped its last three in double figures. But that losing is over. And the team hosts Anadolu Efes Istanbul on October 31 in the second of three straight home games.

As Luwawu-Cabarrot said, this is a great chance for the team to keep the momentum going.
