And it was a good boost of confidence as the team has the national team break to work with the play-caller.

After a back-and-forth game with 17 lead changes and 13 ties in the first three quarters, Barcelona finally putting the game away at the start of the fourth quarter as it improved to an 8-5 record.

“It was a very difficult but super important game for us,” Pascual said. “I think it’s one of the key games of the season in terms of the first half \[of the season\]. It cost us a lot, but we won the game with the help of the whole arena, the packed arena, and people helping us and pushing us in difficult moments.”

The key to the win for [Kevin Punter](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/kevin-punter/009862/) was staying aggressive offensively.

“As a team we are always aggressive offensively as a collective group – always staying in attack mode. So we were able to open up a lead,” said Punter, who led the way with 24 points and 7 assists. “We have to keep building. It’s a long season. Once we find our groove and get rolling, it will look even better. But right now we just have to continue to try and find our rhythm.”

Punter’s output, with his 24 points all coming in the final three quarters, was just three points off his season high of 27 points in Round 3 against Valencia Basket.

[Dario Brizuela](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/dario-brizuela/009992/) chipped in 12 points, including seven points in the decisive run to start the fourth quarter. And the guard said the team is still trying to figure out how Pascual wants it to play.

“It’s hard to know a coach after 10 days and to be able to play 100% how he wants, but we are getting there,” he said.

The national team break comes at a very opportune time for Barcelona, so the team and Pascual can really work together and get in tuned with one another.

“We have seven or eight days without games during the window to practice with him. So that will be a good week to practice and get closer to how he wants. So it’s important for us to go into that week with this win,” said Brizuela.

“We know in the EuroLeague we will have wins and defeats, but if you can win some games in a row you have more confidence. On offense we are still not that effective, especially from the three-point line. In general we are sharing the ball well. Defensively we are far away from the level we have to be if we want to do something great in this competition. But we are making steps. Hopefully in the near future, we will play better on both sides of the court,” Pascual added.

ASVEL, for its part, bounced back in solid fashion from its disappointing 52-84 home loss in Round 12 against AS Monaco. ASVEL continued its road woes with a 0-7 record away from home and 3-10 overall, which sees it sitting in last place in the standings

“I’m proud of the guys overall. We fought with what we had. We did our best. We competed for at least 32, 33 minutes. At the end of the game we were not good enough. But we will keep working and try to compete even more next time,” said ASVEL coach Pierric Poupet.

ASVEL did have good news in the game as leader [Nando De Colo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nando-de-colo/002100/) made a strong comeback from the hamstring injury that kept him out since Round 8. The 38-year-old poured in 22 points – including making 12 of 12 free throws – while dishing out a season-high 9 assists and grabbing 2 rebounds and 2 steals for a season-best PIR of 34.

Butler and Graham nailed clutch three-pointers early in the fourth quarter, which instigated Zvezda’s comeback and ultimately wiped out a 12-point second-half deficit, the latter scoring 9 points in his first game for the club since he joined the Serbian team during the offseason and was then sidelined by injury.

Trailing 59-65 at the end of the third, the duo’s antics were instrumental in a 13-0 run, which gave Zvezda the lead for good as the hosts were able to repel anything Olympiacos threw at them. It was a gratifying win for head coach Sasa Obradovic, who has changed the team’s DNA since he took over earlier this term after a 0-2 start.

“We were aggressive as we were up against a team with championship ambitions,” Obradovic told the postgame press conference. “It was a great performance by both teams at both ends of the court and I must once again hail the impact our fans have when they throng the gym. That’s why putting their hearts on the sleeve and leaving it all out there on the court is a minimum requirement for each and every one of the players. We must keep our feet on the ground heading into the break and appreciate that we’re only one-third through the season,” he added. 

Obradovic stressed he knew he’d raised the bar for himself and the team. “I can’t promise this great run will be crowned by any silverware at the end of the season, but what matters is that I have big dreams and I give my absolute best every day to make them come true. At the end of it all, I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and say that I’ve done my best to make it happen.”

Moneke was the silent water that runs deep as he did much of the thankless hard work in the paint at both ends, as Zvezda grabbed 13 offensive boards while dishing out 20 team assists.

Holding a drawing of himself crafted and presented to him by one of the fans, Moneke showed just how deeply he was touched by the attention. “We’ve got the best fans in Europe,” he said. “They were amazing tonight and when we were down by 12, they propelled us to victory. We never give up with them and, at home, we’re unstoppable. Words can’t do enough justice how much I love these fans and like I said before, I don’t want to be anywhere else. Down by 12 against a team, which people feel can win it all, it shows what type of team we are and the belief we have.”

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Olympiacos, who fell short despite a valiant solo effort from [Sasha Vezenkov](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/sasha-vezenkov/003469/), who amassed 29 points and 8 boards, but his contribution went unrewarded as the visitors appeared to run out of steam when the chips were down.

Head coach Georgios Bartzokas conceded that his men failed to hold their nerves after appearing to be in the driving seat.

“We made all the mistakes in the world after going 12 points up. Turnovers, no patience on transition, we just didn’t control our emotions,” he said. “This Zvezda team is faster, more explosive and more confident than it was in the previous years. They control games well with their good point guards and with this kind of atmosphere, it’s always difficult to win here.”

AS Monaco set a club record for its biggest margin of in a EuroLeague game by beating Anadolu Efes Istanbul by 36 points, while it also tied a club record with 28 assists.

Monaco breaks club history again in beatdown of Efes

If there’s one team in the EuroLeague that doesn’t want the week-long FIBA break to arrive, it’s [AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/as-monaco/mco/).

Last week, Vassilis Spanoulis’s men made club history with [a 32-point victory over French League rival LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/monaco-keeps-its-foot-on-the-throttle-en-route-to-record-night/). This week, they went one better.

With an undermanned [Anadolu Efes Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/anadolu-efes-istanbul/ist/) visiting the principality for Round 13, Monaco put on an offensive clinic. In the words of guard [Matthew Strazel](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/matthew-strazel/008099/), he and his teammates “found a way to kill them and to have fun” en route to a club-record 36-point win.

The triumph over ASVEL felt more like a grind, as Monaco walked away with a 52-84 victory that set a club record for the fewest points allowed. Offensively, though, last season’s EuroLeague runner-up never seemed to get out of second gear.

That certainly wasn’t the case on Wednesday night. Monaco erupted for 102 points in a 102-66 rout of Efes – the second-most it has scored in regulation this season, trailing only the 103 it posted against Dubai Basketball in Round 2. After scoring 50 in the first half, Monaco added 52 more after the break.

Efes did its best to keep pace early, trailing just 50-43 at halftime, but Igor Kokoskov’s side mustered only 23 second-half points as Monaco steadily pulled away, aided by crisp ball movement that led to 28 assists, tying a club record.

“A good night for this organization,” Strazel told EuroLeague TV. “We had to find a way to be consistent through the whole game, and I think we did it the right way. It was good to put everybody on the court. I think everybody enjoyed tonight. That’s a big dub for us.”

Strazel shined with 12 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals, but he wasn’t alone. Only [David Michineau](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/david-michineau/003836/) – who made his EuroLeague debut with 2:41 remaining – failed to score. [Daniel Theis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/daniel-theis/004132/) (17 points), [Alpha Diallo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/alpha-diallo/011226/) (13) and [Kevarrius Hayes](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kevarrius-hayes/010390/) (12) all joined Strazel in double figures.

Being so far ahead in the second half allowed Coach Spanoulis to spread the minutes around, as all 12 players saw the floor. Star guard [Mike James](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/mike-james/005985/) even sat the entire fourth quarter, finishing with 7 points and a team-high 6 assists – leaving him just one assist shy of Spanoulis for fourth most all-time.

One player who did capitalize late was [Nikola Mirotic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nikola-mirotic/000796/). The 2021–22 EuroLeague MVP has had a turbulent start to his Monaco career, but he turned in an impressive all-around performance against Efes: 9 points, a team-best 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, all of which came in the fourth quarter.

“I’m happy for everybody,” Strazel added. “A shout-out to Niko for the way he played defense tonight. We’re going to enjoy this little break.”

Although he rarely shows it, the happiest man on the night was arguably Coach Spanoulis.

“I think we were concentrated,” he said in his post-game interview with EuroLeague TV. “In the first half we played some very good defense, but they made some very tough shots. We shared the ball great. Our guards did a great job.

“For me it’s not important who scores. We know our talent and we know we’re capable of scoring. I know that if we want to go until the end, we have to play this kind of basketball: share the ball, play great defense, and be a real team.”

If Monaco can maintain this form after the break –  when the principality side hosts Paris Basketball and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in back-to-back home games –  it will take something special to stop them.

Having previously filled in for Messina, who missed the last double-round week due to illness, Poeta led Milan to two straight victories against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and Olympiacos Piraeus, showcasing his credentials in front of a fired-up home crowd.

Formerly an assistant coach to Messina, Poeta was back in charge of the team away at [Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/maccabi-rapyd-tel-aviv/tel/), yet this time as the main man at the helm. And his tenure kicked off with a blast, as the visitors crushed Oded Kattash’s side 88-102 at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Wednesday evening.

[Shavon Shields](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/shavon-shields/007831/) netted a season-high 26 points, having gone 7-for-11 from the field and 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.

He also downed 7 rebounds to go with his 6 assists and 7 fouls drawn. More importantly, his contribution was crucial in the third quarter, where Milan managed to pull away.

An entertaining first half saw the visitors grab a 48-54 lead at halftime following a back-and-forth affair. Shields had already bagged 13 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds, but Milan’s defense couldn’t contain a red-hot [Lonnie Walker](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/lonnie-walker-iv/013403/), who netted 19 points before the break.

Following a short trip to the locker room, Milan bounced back in the third, making their defense more compact and containing Walker, with the Maccabi guard managing just 2 points in the second half.

“At halftime, I said that we’d given up too many points,” Shields told EuroLeague TV after the game. “We tightened up on defense and put in a really great second half.”

In fact, Milan held one of the EuroLeague’s best offenses to just 14 points in the third quarter. The hosts opened the second half with a 9-2 run, regaining the lead (57-56). But Shields caught fire, scoring 10 of his team’s next 11 points for a double-digit lead that Milan maintained until the end.

“I’m lucky to play with these guys out there,” Shields added. “They’re putting me in good positions to be successful and together we played a really great second half.”

Milan registered 22 assists, shooting 20-for-32 from inside the arc and 13-for-31 from deep while making 23 of its 24 free-throw attempts.

“Honestly, we had a very good game,” Poeta told EuroLeague TV. “In the second half especially, we also played better defense and that was the key. In the third and the fourth \[quarters\], we had a hell of a defense and we took a huge lead. On offense, the guys played amazing. They shared the ball, they ran, they had a good pace. So, we are happy with this win.”

With Poeta in charge, first as an interim and then as a head coach, Milan has recorded three victories in three games. Having won five of their last six duels, the Italian side will look to carry this momentum into next week’s game at Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz.

“I want to dedicate this win to the ownership and Ettore Messina, who gave me confidence and gave me this opportunity,” Poeta said in the post-game press conference. “It’s their win, because it was their work until two days ago and not getting any credit for that… But I love to see these guys playing and I think we have a long way to go and if we play this way, we can enjoy.”

The Poeta era started with a road victory that improved his team’s record to 7-6 and an extraordinary performance by Shields on both ends of the floor. A new chapter officially opened on Wednesday and the outlook in Milan couldn’t be brighter.

The club confirmed the diagnosis earlier Wednesday, stating that the expected recovery time is approximately four weeks.

Laprovittola, 35, previously missed six games this season with a thigh injury. Since his return, Laprovittola has played a key role for the club. He played a season-high 27 minutes in last week's loss in Istanbul, which was also the first game for the team under new head coach Xavi Pascual.

For the season, Laprovittola has averaged 9.8 points, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. This is his eighth season in Europe's premier competition and his fifth with Barcelona.

Through a statement posted on Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade's website, Zeljko Obradovic has confirmed his resignation as head coach.

Through a statement posted on [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade/par/)'s website, Zeljko Obradovic has confirmed his resignation as head coach.

The decision came after Partizan's Round 13 defeat at Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, which left the team in 18th position in the standings with a 4-9 record.

Obradovic's second spell at Partizan thus comes to an end, having started his coaching career there (1991-93) before making a legendary return to the club in 2021.

The winningest coach in EuroLeague history with nine EuroLeague titles to his name, including one with Partizan in 1992, Obradovic was at the helm as Partizan marked its return to the EuroLeague in 2022. That season, led by the likes of Mathias Lessort, Kevin Punter and Dante Exum, the team reached the EuroLeague Playoffs and went to Game 5 against Real Madrid.

Partizan narrowly missed out on the postseason the following season, finishing 11th with a 16-18 record, before once again failing to reach the postseason last year, ending the campaign 12th with an identical 16-18 mark. The start to the 2025-26 campaign, with Partizan languishing towards the bottom of the standings, has seen Obradovic decide that it is time to step away.

Dear Partizan fans,

Four and a half years ago, I returned to my beloved club and together with you set out to live the most beautiful dream. My wish and goal were for our Partizan to once again, after 10 years, become part of the EuroLeague — and we all succeeded in doing so together. The games of our beloved club have become something more than basketball, thanks to you, who deserve the most credit for that. "Valencia Basket power forward Braxton Key had to leave last night's game against FC Bayern Munich in the fourth quarter after injuring his right knee following a fall during play," Valencia said in a statement.

"Tests carried out this morning at Quirónsalud Valencia hospital ruled out a serious injury, although Key will need to undergo rehabilitation before rejoining the team's training sessions."

"The progress of this injury will determine his availability to return to work with the rest of his teammates."

Key, in his first year in the EuroLeague, has averaged 3.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in five appearances since joining Valencia on October 25.

Led by new head coach Peppe Poeta, who succeeded Ettore Messina, the visitors outscored Maccabi 14-25 in the third quarter and opened a double-digit lead that they maintained until the final whistle. Milan improved its record to 7-6, with Maccabi dropping to 3-10.

Shavon Shields led all scorers with 26 points and Armoni Brooks netted 20, with Leandro Bolmaro and Josh Nebo bagging 11 each. Lonnie Walker paced Maccabi with 21 points, 19 of which were scored in the first half, and Roman Sorkin added 20 in a losing effort.

Olympiacos found another gear early in the second and the lead then changed hands several times before the visitors nosed ahead 37-38 at halftime. Sasha Vezenkov ran riot in the third quarter, scoring 14 points as Olympiacos pulled away into a 49-61 lead before Zvezda slashed it to 59-65 ahead of the final 10 minutes. The hosts clinched the rip-roaring contest down the stretch as they sank a barrage of fourth-quarter three-pointers forcing Olympiacos into submission.

Jordan Nwora paced Zvezda on 23 points, Semi Ojeleye added 15 while Chima Moneke racked up 11 to go with as many boards. At the other end, Vezenkov stood out for Olympiacos on a game-high 29 points and 8 boards, with Tyler Dorsey netting 16 points.

Monaco blew out Efes 102-66 on Wednesday, with Mike James marking the occasion by briefly going first all-time in free throws made, only for Nando De Colo to regain first place later on the night. One week after setting a club record for its largest-ever EuroLeague victory, Monaco broke that mark in Round 13 with a dominant 36-point win. The team’s offense could not be stopped all night long, netting 50 points in the first half and 52 in the second. Its 102 points are the second most scored in regulation this season, only 1 point behind the 103 it poured in against Dubai in Round 2. For Efes, this 36-point defeat is the third heaviest in club history.

Daniel Theis led Monaco in scoring with 17 points, followed by 13 for Alpha Diallo, and 12 apiece for Kevarrius Hayes and Matthew Strazel. Nikola Mirotic finished with 9 points, a team-high 7 rebounds and 5 dimes, while James had 7 points and a team-best 6 assists. Efes’s top scorer was Isaia Cordinier with 16 points. Jordan Loyd had 13 points on his return to Monaco, with Ercan Osmani adding 12.

Barcelona handed new head coach Xavi Pascual his first victory back at the helm with a hard-fought 88-78 home win over ASVEL. The game was tight for the first three quarters with 17 lead changes and 13 ties until Barcelona delivered the knockout punch with a 12-4 to start the final frame and open an 11-point gap.  Barcelona, which lost its first game under Pascual last week, improved to 8-5.

Kevin Punter led the way with 24 points and 7 assists for the winners, Toko Shengelia had 15 points and 6 rebounds and Dario Brizuela chipped in 12 points. ASVEL continued its road woes with a 0-7 record away from home and 3-10 overall. Nando De Colo did all he could with 22 points and 9 assists in his first game since Round 8.

Dubai maintained its perfect record at Coca-Cola Arena with a 90-89 win over Paris in Tuesday’s early fixture. After a slow start to the game that saw Dubai fall behind by 17 points early in the second quarter, first Filip Petrusev and then McKinley Wright came to the fore to ensure Dubai improved to 6-7. Inside the final minute, a Justin Anderson triple and 4 made free throws by Wright put Dubai 90-86 ahead, before Nadir Hifi drained a three-pointer with the last play of the game to fix the 90-89 score. Paris dropped to 5-8 with this defeat, its second straight loss.

Wright had a career night with a personal-best 24 points, with 20 coming in the second half. Petrusev added 19 points, Anderson poured in 12, and Mfiondu Kabengele netted 11. For Paris, Derek Willis scored a career-high 22 points and Hifi and Justin Robinson both had 13 points apiece.

Fenerbahce overcame Virtus at the Ulker Sports and Event Hall on Tuesday night, 66-64. The game got off to an incredibly cagey start, with both teams struggling mightily on offense, but locking in on the defensive side of the floor. The teams went back-and-forth in a low scoring first half, which finished 31-10 to the Black V. The game continued in similarly tense fashion in the third, with neither team able to open up any kind of significant gap. The game remained close until the nail-biting final moments, when a Nicolo Melli clinched the 2-point victory.

Wade Baldwin was the standout performer with 18 points to lead his team to victory. Devon Hall backed him up with 9 points of his own, all scored from beyond the arc. The result was tough on Bologna’s Matthew Morgan who offered a 13-point scoring punch from the bench.

The result completes a perfect, undefeated November for Fenerbahce, which now moves to 8-5 on the EuroLeague campaign. Virtus’s record falls to 6-7.

Zalgiris conjured a 20-2 run in the second half to engineer a comfortable win over Baskonia although the visitors led for three quarters of the contest, improving to 8-5 while the Spanish side dropped to 4-9.

Baskonia made a flying start and opened up a tangible lead early on, thriving on strong defense to take the first quarter 18-24 although Zalgiris hit back with a pair of late three-pointers. The visitors held firm in the second and maintained their advantage, keeping the home team to only 1 offensive board. Zalgiris beefed up its defense after the break and the teams were tied 54-54 at the end of the third quarter, setting up a thrilling home straight. There was no way back for Baskonia after the hosts hit top gear to carve out a 74-59 advantage midway through the fourth, ultimately coasting to an emphatic victory.

Sylvain Francisco shined with 23 points and 11 assists for Zalgiris, Azuolas Tubelis chipped in with 15 points and 6 boards while Ignas Brazdeikis netted 13 points. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot paced Baskonia on 18 points and Kobi Simmons scored 12.

A tight back-and-forth affair saw the visitors secure a 36-39 lead at halftime. What followed was a stretch of runs in the third quarter, with the visitors maintaining a 58-60 advantage. Defenses took over in the closing quarter and *Los Blancos* were clinical enough to escape with their second road victory this season. Real Madrid improved its record to 7-6, with Hapoel dropping to 9-4.

Mario Hezonja led all scorers with 19 points, while Facundo Campazzo and Alberto Abalde netted 11 each. Chris Jones and Antonio Blakeney paced Hapoel with 14 points apiece, with Elijah Bryant bagging 13.

Sterling Brown scored 14 points without a miss as Partizan edged the first quarter, 27-31, but Panathinaikos fought back with an 11-2 run to lead at the break, 48-44. The home team pulled further clear as Kendrick Nunn scored 8 straight points in a 21-0 third quarter run, easily deciding the outcome. The Greens improve to 9-4, while Partizan sinks to 4-9.

The outstanding Nunn topped the scoring with 26 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, also adding 4 assists and 7 rebounds, while Kenneth Faried repeatedly got the home fans on their feet with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Kostas Sloukas orchestrated to the tune of 10 assists, Niko Rogkavopoulos netted 13 points, and Juancho Hernangomez grabbed 15 rebounds. Brown led Partizan with 16 points, but nobody else managed double digits scoring in another feeble capitulation from the Serbian team.

Valencia took the third quarter 27-12 and Brancou Badio led the way with 16 points while Jean Montero and Omari Moore both had 13 points and Darius Thompson chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Bayern has dropped four in a row - following three straight wins - for a 5-8 record. This was the third of seven consecutive road games for Bayern, which was paced by Spencer Dinwiddie with 12 points.

We are a team that likes to play fast, they will try to stop us through that kind of destruction, we have to adapt and do some small things well. Paris is playing with the highest pace in the EuroLeague. They are playing very fast basketball with a lot of running, a lot of passes, a lot of individual characteristics and quality. A lot of three-point shots, pushing for offensive rebounds. It is not too much that we don’t know how they play, we just need to answer with physicality and pace. Running back, never slow down. It is going to be full sprint for 40 minutes.

**Davis Bertans, Dubai forward**

The most important things is to get back on defense and don’t let them run. At the same time, we have to keep playing our basketball, force them to play our way. After the game we have a long break, so we have to leave everything out there on the court. We have to keep focus for all 40 minutes. If they have runs, stop them as quick as possible and try to get the momentum back if that happens.

### Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. Virtus Bologna (18:45 CET)

"At this point I can’t say I feel very comfortable if we play the way we did in the first half against Dubai Basketball. If we play like we did in the second half — aggressively, with everyone involved and with our fans supporting us — then yes, you feel comfortable and you feel you’re playing well. But for that to happen, we all need to be ready from the start of the game, because you can’t always come back in the second half. This has nothing to do with playing at home or away — you must be aggressive throughout the whole game. Partizan Mozzart Bet lost badly in their previous game but, despite that loss, they are a very dangerous team with very good players, high-level offensive players like Sterling Brown, \[Duane\] Washington, Tyrique \[Jones\], \[Nick\] Calathes — they are dangerous every time. A good team is coming in; they have a pretty solid defense, they like to run in transition and play their style of basketball. Every game I’ve played in so far has been physical. We know what they’re capable of; we watched them today, so I think we’ll be well-prepared for tomorrow and we’ll come out with a lot of physical intensity and energy. I’m sure the fans will show up to help us stay motivated and ready, giving us that extra push. I still have a lot to learn. My teammates are helping me, the coaches are helping me, so I think it’s been going well. I’m just trying to get better every day, in every practice. Last week’s practices helped me adapt a lot faster – I was able to understand things, make mistakes, and learn how to improve. So I’m sticking with that. We have this important game tomorrow and then we’ve got a break, so I’ll use that break to get better too. But yeah, I think I’m adapting well.
