Dubai ends Zvezda’s streak, dedicates win to injured teammate

In his first six EuroLeague appearances, Kenan Kamenjas scored a total of 4 points. Last week, he stepped into the playing time vacated by the injured Mfiondu Kabengele and netted 8 points. And then on Tuesday, the Bosnian big man had his coming out party.

Kamenjas erupted for 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead Dubai basketball to a convincing 102-86 victory over red-hot Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade. The victory saw Dubai improve its record to 4-6, while snapping Zvezda's seven-game winning run and knocking the Serbian squad from a share of first place in the standings. 

While that should have been a moment for Kamenjas to celebrate his performance, there were only “we’s” and a tribute when he spoke to EuroLeague TV after the game: “Great victory for us against a good team,, maybe the best team at the moment. We showed good energy from the first minute and we won. We need to analyze this game and need to prepare for the game against Zalgiris on Friday.”

Kamenjas finished his remarks by dedicating the victory to teammate Nate Mason, who recently had surgery for a cervical disc injury sustained last month. And Mason was not only on the mind of Kamenjas.

"I want to say something. I don't think in my career that I ever dedicated a victory to nobody. But this is a special occasional," Coach Jurica Golemac said at the onset of his post-game press conference. "I want to dedicate this product to our teammate Nate Mason, a guy who was with us from the beginning. A wonderful human being. Great teammate, great player. He's had some problems, but we are waiting for him from here. We want him to heal and to come back with us.

"The guys played like they were playing for Nate. Great energy. Great Focus. We were doing the mistakes, but... when you have 15 offensive rebounds against a team like Red Star, when you have 24 assists, that means that you give everything. That you pass the ball to each other, then you trust to each other, and that you were fighting. So great victory."

Dubai outrebounded Zvezda 35-26, with Kamenjas leading the way and Filip Petrusev adding 7 along with 13 points and 6 assists.

Kamenjas wasn’t the only Dubai player to have his finest moment of the season on Tuesday. Aleksa Avramovic, who missed the start of the season to injury, came off the bench to score 17 points. Even more than his stats, his fighting spirit – and that of David Bertans – were big boosts for Dubai.

"Avramovic came back. A very important player for us to give rest to the other guards, you know, an experienced player like I need," Golemac said of the veteran guard before highlighting Bertans.

"I need to say thank you to Davis Bertans, who was struggling with the injury couple last days without practice. He decided to play and this is this is the spirit that is bringing the victories."

Wilbekin made his season debut in Round 4 after recovering from an ACL injury suffered on the opening night of the 2024-25 campaign, but he did not feature in [Fenerbahce's Round 9 win over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fenerbahce-finds-form-defeats-undermanned-asvel/) last Thursday night.

Fenerbahce has not disclosed how long Wilbekin will be out for.

Dozier's absence comes at a time when Efes is having to deal with the long-term injuries of Georgios Papagiannis and Vincent Poirier, while Rodrigue Beaubois is recovering from elbow surgery.

"PJ Dozier, who was injured during yesterday's game against Besiktas GAIN Istanbul, has been diagnosed with a second-degree tear in the back of his right thigh, and treatment has been initiated immediately," read Efes's statement.

"Our doctor, Uğur Diliçıkık, has stated that our player will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks."

Dozier, who had his best outing of the season so far in Round 9 by posting a career-high 34 points and a career-best 34 PIR, has averaged 10.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal in seven games for Efes in 2025-26.

Fantasy tips, Rounds 10-11: The fun doesn't stop!

It's early November and we are about to enter Rounds 10 and 11 of the EuroLeague Regular Season. A double round gives EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge managers more chances to win prizes, get more victories in the Trophy Cup and climb the ranks, not just in the overall standings but also in all of the many private leagues in the game. First things first, [let's see how my tips went last week](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fantasy-tips-round-9-mid-tier-magic-and-value-finds/). I am not a fan of pointing out my own mistakes, but here I go.

I didn't go for any of the biggest stars in the game. My most expensive choice was Moses Wright of Zalgiris Kaunas, who scored 20.9 fantasy points and earned 0.3 credits. Rodions Kurucs of Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz had a score of zero and lost 0.3 credits. Isiaha Mike of FC Bayern Munich (15.4 points, 0.2 credits gained) and Quinn Ellis of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (15.4 points, 0.3 credits gained) did well while Joel Parra of FC Barcelona (3.0 points, 0.2 credits lost) was a poor recommendation last week. Three wins, two losses.

Without further ado, let's recommend five more players for the double-round week.

Fantasy tips: Rounds 10-11

### Duane Washington, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade (8.6 credits)

[Duane Washington](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/duane-washington/013370/) has stepped up big since Carlik Jones went down due to injury. In the last five games, Washington has averaged 17.8 points, 4.0 assists and a PIR of 14.6. Partizan plays at home against Monaco and on the road against ASVEL, and it is a good chance for Washington to keep shining. Biggest bargain in the game?

### Nadir Hifi, Paris Basketball (13.8 credits)

At the start of the season, consistency was a key issue for [Nadir Hifi](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nadir-hifi/012640/) when it came to the Fantasy Challenge. Well, not anymore. Hifi has been sensational all season long, getting a double-digit PIR in every single games and at least 16 in each of the last four games. At 13.8 credits, he is the cheapest superstar in the game.

### Armel Traore, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (8.0 credits)

[Armel Traore](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/armel-traore/010319/) comes off a monster performance last week. Despite his team's loss and many injuries, Traore came off the bench to get 18 points on perfect shooting, 5 rebounds and a PIR of 25. He followed that up with a good performance in the French League, amassing 10 points, 4 assists and a PIR of 13 in 23 minutes.

### Saliou Niang, Virtus Bologna (9.1 credits)

[Saliou Niang](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/saliou-niang/012687/) had a career-best performance against Baskonia, finishing the game with 18 points, 12 rebounds and a PIR of 35. He has been really effective throughout the campaign, hitting 73.3% two-pointers and 85.7% free throws without taking any three-point shot so far. Expect him to keep delivering in the near future.

### Wade Baldwin, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (12.2 credits)

[Wade Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/wade-baldwin-iv/009863/) faces Bayern, one of his former teams, in Round 10. That is always a plus, but it's not the main reason why I am recommending him. He has been rock-solid all season, averaging 14.4 points, 5.9 assists and a PIR of 16.9. Baldwin is determined to keep making good things happen for the reigning champs.

Zvezda’s unstoppable duo of Codi Miller-McIntyre and Chima Moneke has been enhanced by a promising start from recent signing Jared Butler, who combined 8 points with 4 assists in last week's thrashing of Panathinaikos. The visiting team will also need a strong performance in the paint from Donatas Motiejunas against former Zvezda star Filip Petrusev, who has recorded double-digit scoring and PIR in every game this season. Dubai, which has lost four straight, will also look for another big scoring night from Dwayne Bacon after his 34-point outburst in last week's loss to Hapoel, while recently signed shooter Boogie Ellis will attempt to maintain his form after netting 18 and 16 points in his first two games.

### Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv (20:00 CET)

Maccabi (2-9) will attempt to climb away from the foot of the standings by conquering inconsistent Fenerbahce (4-5) in a game relocated to Munich. Maccabi has lost three straight despite a potent offense which ranks third in the league in scoring with an average of 90.7 points per game and second in assists (21.2 per game), powered by the constant scoring threat of Lonnie Walker (14.9 points per game). Fenerbahce will hope veteran Nicolo Melli can continue to help control the tempo after his 12 points and 9 rebounds led the way to last week's win over ASVEL, while the orchestration of Wade Baldwin (5.9 assists per night, fourth in the league) will be important in piling more misery on Maccabi’s league-worst defense (96 points per game allowed).

### Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv vs. Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (20:05 CET)

Co-leader Hapoel (7-2) will attempt to retain that status with a visit from resurgent Baskonia (3-6). The Spanish team will be confident as it comes off three consecutive home wins powered by the energy of Hamidou Diallo (13.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game) and the consistency of shooter Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who has scored at least 16 points in every game this season. Hapoel leads the league in scoring with 90.9 points per game thanks to impressive shooting accuracy: 59.2% from two-point range and 39.5% from deep, second and third best in the competition respectively. Veteran playmaker Vasilije Micic is central to that process after netting double digits in seven straight games, including 19 in last week’s win at Dubai – Hapoel’s fifth triumph in six games.

### Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade vs. AS Monaco (20:30 CET)

High-flying Monaco (6-3) will attempt to keep climbing in the fervent atmosphere of a trip to Partizan (3-6). The visiting team has won three straight behind the leadership of new all-time PIR leader Mike James, whose 34 points allowed Monaco to survive last week's overtime thriller at Maccabi. Partizan, however, has slipped to four straight losses despite the strong form of Duane Washington, who averages 17.8 points over the last five games. This game presents a contrast of styles with the home team ranking last in the league in assists (16.3 per game), while Monaco tops that metric with 21.3 per night. Nick Calathes will try to improve Partizan’s output as he faces his former club, but will beware of the ball-hawking skills of Alpha Diallo (1.4 steals per game, fourth in the league).

### Virtus Bologna vs. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (20:30 CET)

Struggling Virtus (4-5) will seek home comforts with a visit from equally suffering Efes (3-6). The Italian team has suffered three consecutive heavy defeats on the road, scoring just 65, 70 and 76 points in those games. Last week’s double overtime heartbreak against Milan means that Efes has lost four of its last five games, hampered by an offense which has struggled for fluency with just 16.6 assists per game. PJ Dozier will hope to stay hot after exploding for 34 points last time out, while Virtus forward Saliou Niang delivered a similarly spectacular performance with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Round 9 loss at Baskonia. In the paint, Efes forward Ercan Osmani has a big role after averaging 6.4 rebounds in the last three games.

### Valencia Basket vs Real Madrid (20:30 CET)

An all-Spanish affair will see Real (5-4) attempt to keep climbing the standings with a tough trip to direct rival Valencia (5-4). Real forward Trey Lyles will pose a big threat to the home team after averaging 19.8 points over the last four games, including 29 in last week’s morale-boosting *Clásico* triumph at Barcelona. Valencia has won three of four at home behind a power-packed offense which ranks second in the league with 90.7 points per game, led by the consistency of sharpshooter Brancou Badio (13.5 points per game). The battle for inside supremacy between the likes of Matt Costello and Walter Tavares could be crucial: Real has the league’s fourth-best two-point conversion rate (57.8%), with Valencia not far behind (56.5%).

### Paris Basketball vs. Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (21:00 CET)

Two teams aiming to bounce back meet in the French capital as Paris (4-5) targets snapping a three-game losing streak with a visit from Panathinaikos (5-4). The Greens, who have lost three straight on the road, will be determined to make a fast start after a dismal first half in last week's loss at Zvezda, and all eyes will be on playmaker TJ Shorts as he returns to face his former club – his backcourt battle with ex-teammate and league leading scorer Nadir Hifi (22.1 points per game) promises to be a great spectacle. Another key battle will take place in the paint where Dinos Mitoglou is among those needing to help Panathinaikos’s injury-hit frontcourt control Paris's ferocious offensive rebounding (16.4 per game, easily the most in the league), led by Momo Faye (2.1 OR per game).

### Olympiacos Piraeus vs. Zalgiris Kaunas (20:15 CET)

A big battle in Piraeus will see fourth-placed Olympiacos (6-3) attempt to overcome co-leader Zalgiris (7-2). The Lithuanian team made it four straight victories with last week’s triumph over Valencia, chiefly thanks to a stellar defense which has allowed just 68.5 points during that winning run. That defense will be chiefly tested by Sasha Vezenkov, who has scored at least 12 points in every game this season. Thomas Walkup also excelled in last week’s win over Partizan, scoring 15 points, and he will have a key role defensively against Zalgiris playmaker and league assists leader Sylvain Francisco (14.9 points and 6.8 assists per night). The paint promises a big battle between two of the league’s best big men, Nikola Milutinov (11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game) and Moses Wright (12.9 ppg and 6.1 rpg).

### FC Bayern Munich vs. FC Barcelona (20:30 CET)

In-form Bayern (5-4) will seek a fourth straight win with a visit from Barcelona (5-4). The hosts will look for Andreas Obst (14 points per game) to repeat the sharpshooting that saw him set a league record by draining 11 triples in last season's meeting between the teams, while big man Wenyen Gabriel hopes for another strong performance after scoring 12 points in last week’s win at Paris. Barcelona needs to bounce back from last week’s Clasico loss to Real Madrid, and can again run its offense through Nico Laprovittola following his return from injury. Barca has the league’s second-best three-point conversion rate (41.1%), so the likes of Will Clyburn and Kevin Punter will hope to outshoot Obst and Isiaha Mike, who has multiple triples in four games straight.

### EA7 Emporio Armani Milan vs. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (20:30 CET)

Milan (4-5) will look to build more momentum against an ASVEL team (2-7) which is desperately hoping to turn the corner. The injury-hit French team, which is still targeting a first road win of the season, can hope for more inspiration from center Armel Traore after his 18 points without a miss in last week’s loss at Fenerbahce. But ASVEL also needs others to step up and improve the league’s lowest scoring offense (77.2 points per game). Milan showed its spirit in a double overtime victory over Efes in Round 9, when Shavon Shields extended his record of double-digit scoring in every game with 24 points. Another plus was Zach LeDay’s return from injury, and he will look to dominate the frontcourt against an ASVEL team ranking next-to-last in rebounding (31.9 per night).

Seven games take place on Tuesday, followed by three on Wednesday

Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv has bolstered its backcourt by signing veteran combo-guard [Iffe Lundberg](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/iffe-lundberg/010781/), the club announced. 

Lundberg (1.93 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade, where he averaged 7.9 points and 3.0 assists in 26 EuroLeague games last season as a part-time starter. He also helped Partizan win the Serbian and ABA Leagues. Lundberg was under contract at Partizan for the current season, too, but did not appear in any games

Maccabi will be Lundberg's fourth EuroLeague club after he played two seasons each for CSKA Moscow and Virtus Bologna, before joining Paritzan in the summer of 2024. He has career averages of 9.0 points and 2.2 assists in 129 games in Europe’s premier competition.

The Danish international previously played in Spain for BAXI Manresa and Lenovo Tenerife. Lundberg began his career with Falcon, Copenhagen and Horsens in his native country, and also played for Zielona Gora in Poland. He also became the first Danish player to play in the NBA when he appeared in four games for the Phoenix Suns in 2022.

Lundberg's trophy case includes the 2019 Intercontinental Cup with Tenerife, a national championship in Denmark with Horsens and as well as the VTB United League crown with CSKA. He also won the 2021 Polish Cup with Zielona Gora.

The five teams above the fray in the EuroLeague standings entering the week all notched victories in Round 9. [Zalgiris Kaunas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/zalgiris-kaunas/zal/) was one of those teams, holding onto its spot atop the landscape with a late surge past a tough [Valencia Basket](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/valencia-basket/pam/) team at Zalgirio Arena. Scoring 7 points over three possessions with the shot clock under 4 seconds in the final 6 minutes, Coach Tomas Masiulis’s team delivered several deflating blows to the opposing defense under time pressure.

That has quietly been a key to Zalgiris's success all season. Not only has no team operated late into the shot clock more frequently than Zalgiris — a byproduct of the team's 18th-ranked pace — but no team has scored as efficiently as the Lithuanian side either. Zalgiris's 1.02 points per late clock possession would rank a remarkable third in the EuroLeague in overall half-court offensive efficiency; it is taking and making quality shots at an elite level even when it grinds down the clock.

A great deal of that success can be traced to its poise driving and kicking under pressure and its 45% three-point shooting with time winding down.  The collective coolness of this group — and especially that of [Sylvain Francisco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/sylvain-francisco/007975/) and [Maodo Lo](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/maodo-lo/007032/) orchestrating things — has helped Zalgiris control the pace of games and been a valuable complement to its second-ranked defensive efficiency.

Being able to burn the clock and knock down shots has had pretty clear implications on the defensive end this season as three of the season’s four most efficient late clock offenses also rank among the four stingiest teams guarding in the open floor. Given that short, shot-clock possessions are converted for just 0.83 points per possession on average — down from 0.87 last year and well off the 1.01 points per possession teams are scoring on all other half-court possessions this year, being able to convert those shots not only demoralizes opposing defenses, but prevents them from playing with pace as well.

Among individual scorers, Francisco and Lo rank first and third in the EuroLeague in shot clock scoring respectively with Francisco’s 4.8 points per game sitting well ahead of his league-best 3.4 per game from last year, pretty comfortably the top mark of the last 15 years.  With Lo outpacing his mark from last season as well, that duo has changed the calculus for Zalgiris with their late-clock scoring thus far.

While [Tyson Carter](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/tyson-carter/011305/) of [Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/crvena-zvezda-meridianbet-belgrade/red/) has missed the last several games with respiratory issues, his 4.3 late-clock points per game would rank among the top handful of marks this decade. [Dwayne Bacon](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/dwayne-bacon/011286/) of [Dubai Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/dubai-basketball/dub/), [Carsen Edwards](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/carsen-edwards/011987/) of [Virtus Bologna](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/virtus-bologna/vir/), and [Sterling Brown](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/players/sterling-brown/012720/) of [Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/partizan-mozzart-bet-belgrade/par/) round out the next tier of scorers, with Edwards’s efficiency standing out among individual leaders. 

[Anadolu Efes Istanbul](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/anadolu-efes-istanbul/ist/) and [AS Monaco](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/teams/as-monaco/mco/) warrant mention as well, with both teams scoring at a well-above-average rate late in the clock, giving up under 10 points per game in transition defensively, and Monaco burning the candle from both ends, ranking sixth in transition scoring too. 

While the season is still extremely young, a lot of things have gone right for Zalgiris and how well its execution and shot-making under time pressure holds in the coming months could go a long way towards a return to the postseason following a two-year absence.
